Getting to Key West

My son's college hockey team wants to travel from Long Island, NY to Key West for a tournament in early January. Flying to Key West Airport requires several layovers and is expensive. Is there a better way to do this? Maybe fly into another airport and then drive to Key West?

You can fly into Miami. Then it is about a 3-4 hour drive to Key West. HTH. Fort Lauderdale is about 30 minutes north of Miami so that is an option also.

Coming from someone who has done this numerous times.....fly into Miami and drive down to Key West. Have fun!!

There's also a ferry from Ft. Myers or Naples. Don't know if it'd be cheaper, but it'd be worth a look.

I would fly into Miami or Ft.Lauderdale and drive to Key West; it's a beautiful, absolutely BEAUTIFUL drive and much more fun than being stuck on a plane!!

Fly to Ft Lauderdale and then drive. Flights to Ft Lauderdale tend to be less expensive than those to Miami, the airport is easier to deal with and it is only about an extra hour driving.
