Ok, I know that getting to Hoop Dee Doo through strictly buses is NOT the way to go. And I know that you can get there by boat from the MK. Is there an easy way to get there from any of the other parks??? We just added a day to our trip  and I'm trying to change things around now from my already well thought out plan! Oh the laborious work of it all!!

Edited: Answered my own question. New question....how far of a walk is it?? Any idea? Looks like maybe 1/2 mile??

Fort Wilderness like all Disney resorts has its own buses that go to all the parks and DTD.

The issue with the buses are that they let you off at the front of the resort. From there you take an internal bus back to HDR which is about 1.2 miles back.

One other difference is that there is a boat that goes from MK to FW. So if you are there just take the boat. It drops you off just a short walk to HDR.

If you decide to go to WL first, I did a little Google Earth map and the path from WL to HDR looks to be a little under a mile.

We took a boat from the Contemporary so you could take the monorail to the Contemporary and catch a boat from there. It drops you off really close to the show.

Would you say the best bet for someone staying off-site would be to drive to MK and take the boat from there to Hoop Dee Doo Review?

Or just drive to FW, park in the lot provided and take the short bus ride back.

If you go to the MK parking lot first you will have to take a tram to the TTC, then a monorail or ferry to the MK and then a boat back to FW. Also you will have to pay if you already haven't paid for parking that day.

It seems like a lot of people are working very hard to avoid a 10 minute bus ride.

If you have a car, drive to FW then take the bus to Pioneer Hall.

If you do not have a car and are relying on Disney transportation then the boat from MK is the easiest and quickest route.

We plan to walk from WL to HoopDee on Sept 28 with pedometers and a GPS.....I'll report back with the exact time and distance!

If you go to the last show and MK closes early the boat won't take you back to MK. Those that stay on property and do this take the bus back from Pioneer Hall to their resort.

Getting to the Hoop Dee Doo you have to make Loop Dee Loo's. The walk from the bus to the Saloon for me was quite challenging also. There are a lot of Loop Dee Loo's at Disney that's for sure. I do looove the HDDR however.:rotfl:

So I think this answers the question that came to my mind since my last post. I was going to ask if the boat to FW left from TTC or MK, and it seems like it leaves from MK.

We're going to the 5:00 PM show. MVMCP is running that night, so I should be able to get the boat back to MK if we go from there.

Our reservation isn't until our sixth night of our vacation, so I'm sure a CM will be able to help me out if I'm still confused when I get there.

A LOT of people do that, so the boat line can get really long. It's one of the frustrating thing about being a guest at Fort Wilderness - sharing that boat with all the HDD people :goodvibes

I like going to Contemporary or WL and taking the boat over to the Fort.

Going home, you can grab a bus directly back to your resort. They run them special just for HDD guests to get home! - OOPs just read your post - they don't do this for the 5:00 show since the MK is still open then. They only do the direct buses after the later two shows.

We always stay at POR

WE ahve done it both ways - 3 bus transfers - huge long pain

I enjoy the MK boat ride - nice and relaxing. However line does get long at the end so hussle out the end go the show to get in front or you will spend a ton of time in line.
