I have never stayed at the BWV yet and we are looking forward to our upcoming reservation. I was wondering if anyone has walked from the BWV to the Hollywood Studios, if so how long of a walk is it? Do you know if it is possible to take the boat over as well?

Thanks in advance, Mark

Absolutely, Mark! The boat goes to DHS with a stop at Swan/Dolphin first. Coming back, it's usually faster to get off at Swan/Dolphin and walk over the bridge to the BW. We've always beaten the boat there!

The walk is a nice, relaxing 15-20 minute stroll along the canal. You can't beat it. It's not too long that it wears you out by the time you get there, and long enough that you feel you've gotten some exercise. :thumbsup2

If you have kids, it allows them to run ahead, and blow off some steam so they will sit still :rolleyes1 and enjoy all the attractions at DHS. :goodvibes

The Epcot resorts are one of the best overall locations at WDW, IMHO.

Enjoy!

Thanks Cee,

Would you recommend the walk for my parents who still fairly mobile but they are in their 70's?

I'd probably recommend the boat to save their energies for DHS, but you could ask them how they feel about a 20 minute walk.

The walk is delightful along the canal. If you take the boat get on/off at the Swolphin and you can save a little time by skipping the BC/YC stop.

Walking distance from BWV to Studios entrance is about a mile. Whether your parents can do that depends on them. The alternative is the boat. If you get on at BWV/BWI dock, the trip takes about 25 to 30 minutes because you will stop at YC/BC dock and then the Swan/Dolphin dock before going to studios (coming back it stops at S/D, then YC/BC then Boardwalk and then Epcot). Note that you can take a short walk over a bridge from the end of boardwalk to the Swan/Dolphin boat dock and catch the boat there, with travel time being about 10 minutes.

It also depends on what room you end up with at BWV. If you are at the very end, near their tennis courts, I believe it is a shorter walk from the end stairwell and then along the path to DHS. Otherwise, from that area, you need to walk all the way to the boat dock and then endure a 30 minute ride to DHS. It would also be a longer walk across the bridge to the Swan/Dolphin dock.....and also be aware, that in the earlier mornings, the boat to DHS can be quite full by the time it gets to the swan/dolphin dock and I've seen many unhappy guests having to wait for the next boat. With elders in tow, however, I would most definitely at least take the boat back. But again, depending on where your room is, the walk back from the dock can be very long....but extremely enjoyable since there are so many wonderful things to see along the BoardWalk. Sitting on the veranda outside the lobby, looking across the lake is a good resting spot....and if you time it right at night, you can actually see MK fireworks in the distance from that spot.

Thanks for the great suggestions, Its good to know there alternatives, Ill wing it based on everyone's condition, our room location, and the crowds:)

The walk is a very nice walk along the canal, but is a bit of a hike for someone in their 70's. The nice part is that you can take the boats if you're not in a hurry.

Here's an aerial view of the walk (red line) from BWV to DHS.
