Hi girls!

We are having our dessert party at Epcot but are not quite sure how to transport our guests.

I am aware of the motor coach but there is no way I will need it for 5 hours. I'm thinking 2 hours tops!

Any ideas?

Thanks :goodvibes

The rules might have changed, but since all our guests were mainly coming from the same resort we had them take the regular Disney transportation and then had our Epcot guide meet at the front gate instead of at the International Gateway. You can divide your motorcoach time up throughout the day, so if you use part of the time for ceremony transportation you can finish it up in the evening I believe.

My guests all made there own way. We had toiled a few ideas like all getting on the monorail (would have made some brilliant photos) but in the end most the guests either drove or got taxi's to the boardwalk hotel then all met at the international gateway, where they were escorted in.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Did you have to pay for the Epcot guide? I heard that they have to let you in through the back as they won't allow people in wedding attire to walk through the park?:goodvibes

They won't allow *you* to walk thru the park in your wedding attire, but your guests will be OK. However, people have had various levels of success getting clearance to have their guests meet the guide (no charge) at the park entrance instead of at International Gateway. Also, it is not possible to break up the hours of the chartered motorcoach over the course of the day. We had to pay for 2 five-hour minimums in one day b/c our ceremony was in the morning and DP was at night. :(

However, there are alternatives to the charter that are cheaper, including one-way buses, vans, limos and mini buses. If most of your guests have been to WDW before and are comfortable using the transportation, you can skip it altogether. Then either you walk in with them and a guide, or you get a limo just for yourself (if your planner says your DP location is too far from International Gateway to walk in your dress).

Thanks for your reply :goodvibes I guess we could just get transport for ourselves which would be a whole lot cheaper!:thumbsup2

Ok, so I have spoken with Bill Barchik my wedding coordinator. He told me that no one is allowed to walk through the park and we would all have to meet at the international gateway. I don't understand how some people have gotten past this?

I am really gutted, I so wanted pictures on the monorail :(

Anyway, there will be 40 - 50 guests. I don't want to hire a motor coach for 5 hours so what other option do I have?

Many thanks!:goodvibes

I had Bill too as a sales manager before I was assigned a planner. I would wait until you get a regular planner assigned and then ask again. As Carrie mentioned they are very inconsistent in what they let some brides do for their weddings, so you might still get stuck at the International Gateway. But, there were some things I asked Bill that my planner was eventually able to find ways to accomodate. We also had 50 guests at our wedding.
