Getting to DTD from parks

The only bust stop for DTD is way over on the market place side? Didn't it used to be over by PI (before it closed obviously)? Is there another bus stop on the west side? That will be one heck of a walk from the market place to get to Cirque if we catch a bus from one of the monorail resorts to DTD.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there a water-taxi that can take you from one end of DTD to the other. If I'm right you get it somewhere near the boat dock for the resorts, but I'm not sure how close it gets you to Cirque. We didn't take it just because we didn't have any ADR's and were actually there to soak it all in:cool1:. This was a year ago May, so things may have changed since then. Hopefully someone here knows if they still have this service.

I know that when we were there in May'08 there was a water-taxi that would take you from one side to the other at DTD. I'm not sure how close it would take you to Cirque but it would cut out a large chunck of the walk. I'm pretty sure you catch it at the same dock you would get the resort boats (there are 2 lines). I'm not 100% sure that is the place as we didn't use the service but I'm sure there is someone here that would know.

I have tried the OKW, PO and SSR transfers but I personally didn't like them. I found the boats to be too slow and for the most part too far away from the bus stop.

From the parks I like to just use a close resort for example, if I'm at...
MK, walk to CR and take the bus from there or boat to WL, Poly or GF
Epcot, walk to BC and take the bus from there
HS, walk to BW or boat to Swan then bus
AK, bus to AKL then bus to DTD

The buses stop at the Marketplace, and there is another stop over behind Planet Hollywood. The buses stop there after Marketplace.

Didnt I read somewhere they were or did change the boat launches at DTD since the resort one got kind of congested sometimes?

I thought the buses always stop at Marketplace and Pleasure Island? At least they did in August 2008 when we were going back to the Contemporary.

Thankfully, several times on multiple trips I have gotten aboard buses at the Marketplace depot when headed back to our resort, and they did NOT make the swing by and stop at the PI depot.

That extra stop can be a real pain when you are tired at the end of a long day.

Oh well that has not happened to us before, so I would say you got lucky. Also the last time we used the Disney buses from DYTD after leaving the Pleasure Island the bus then went to Typhoon Lagoon and just drove around in the bus area and left, so I guess they had to incase someone might have been waiting. However since it was after 9:00 PM chances are no one would be waiting there at that time.
