Hi All.
One of our days will be DHS. None of us particularly love TS there. My oldest DD wants to have dinner at Cape May Cafe. I'm wondering how long it would likely take to leave DHS, get to CMC, eat, and get back to DHS. I have no issues eating there but not sure I want to invest four or more hours into dinner.
I'm basically lazy when I'm in WDW and prefer not to drive at all -- even though I know it takes longer :rotfl: Do you think in this case I'd be better driving that day? We're staying at POFQ.
Thanks for any advice!

You can take the boat from DHS to the Beach Club, even with a wait it shouldn't take too long. Because dinner is a buffet, it depends on how quickly your family eats rather than slow service(hopefully) to determine how quickly you can get in and out. We like to walk back to DHS, helps burn off those sweets( my DH eats a ton of those Oreo things). Or you could take the boat back again.... I don't think it will take four hours, but definitely at least two.

Thanks! Two hours is what I generally figure for a TS meal. I didn't realize it was so close to DHS! This is definitely do-able!

I think it's more like a 15-20 min walk but yeah, it's close.

The boat was really easy and only a few minutes wait. Also its a really cool ride because you get to see alot on the way.

We did the same thing - DHS to BC back to DHS. We took the boat both ways. It was a nice ride and the kids enjoyed it. We didn't have to wait long to get the boat to BC, but we waited probably 30-40 minutes to get it back to DHS after dinner. The entire process took about 3 hours.

We loved Cape May Cafe. DH is the only one of us who eats seafood, and was in heaven. There were plenty of non-seafood items, too. The kids and I ate a ton. Our server was great. Oh, and the desserts are excellent. We will be going back on our next trip.

It's a longer walk than you think. We stayed at BCV this past January and it took more like 20 mins to walk to DHS...and I am a runner, so I am not slow...:) I would take the boat, it will have a few stops along the way, but much easier than the trek...maybe walk back to DHS to burn off dinner...LOL

It is a love walk but quite a long one, maybe 15-20ish mins. the boats a quicker obviously but i would see how you feel on the day what you want to do but give yourself plenty time as your not rushing. you will love the food at Cape May, it's VERY tasty! :goodvibes

We've taken the boat from DHS to Cape May for dinner the past two years. It is one of our favorite things to do while at Disney World. A nice boat ride to a great resort for an awesome meal. I love seafood so all you can eat steamers and crab legs, you can't beat it! We love to walk around the Beach Club Resort too. We're hoping to someday stay there.

We did Cape May on our DHS day last fall. We took the boat over and were planning on taking it back to DHS to then get a bus to POFQ "home" for the evening, but it was pouring down rain, so we splurged the $10 and took a cab back to POFQ after dinner.

You can walk but is a hike..OR take the boat from DHS over to Cape May/Beach Club and is very short walk to CMC. If it happens to be after DHS closes the boat will run one hour after closing and if that is the case can go thru back of Epcot to buses and take your resort bus back to resort. we are lazy dazy in Disney as well and like the calm boat ride over and back:dance3:

Hmmmm. Maybe we'll boat over nd walk back. Hopefully we can get the boat pretty quickly.

We always walk too. It is enjoyable walk about 15 -20 minutes. If you just miss the boat you can wait 20 minutes for the next one and it is at least a 20 minute ride.
Enjoy
