One of the days of our vacation we are planning to eat at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club and then go into Epcot for Illuminations.

We are staying at the Polynesian and will have a car.

Here's my question and please don't flame me, as I truly am not trying to break any rules here, just exploring all my options.

I am a DVC member. Even though I am not staying at BCV, can I park at the resort, eat at Cape May and then be able to go into Epcot for Illuminations?

The reason I want to know if this is possible is that my in-laws are going to be with us, and my mother-in-law just finished cancer treatments less than a year ago. Hence, her stamina isn't what it used to be. If I can just walk over to BC from the International Gateway and save her a little walk after a long day, I'd like to do it.

I don't have a problem taking the monorail over to Epcot from the Polynesian. MIL can walk to the monorail, but she might be having to take it slow and I am just not sure how well it will go. This will be her first trip to WDW and I want to make it as easy on her as possible. But I certainly don't want to violate any rules here at all, nor runt he risk of having a rental car towed.

Thanks for any objective opinions out there.

zulaya - If I were in this situation, I'd drive to the BC and valet park. As a DVC member, there is no charge for this other than a tip, and IMHO, it is well worth a few dollars to have the convenience, especially for your MIL. Just show the valet your DVC membership card. With the valet, your car will definitely NOT be towed and you will not get a 3 hour time limit or be turned away. IMHO, the monorail and the walking is just not an option based on your description of your MIL's condition.

Have a wonderful trip!

Actually if you have a handicapped parking permit for your MIL, valet parking is fre at any resort regardless of DVC or not. This is one of the rare times that I feel parking at a resort is justified.

You might want to thikn about this as well to make it really easy on her...take an Illuminations cruise from the YC Marina. Great seats to see the show and minimal walking :)
