Getting to a beach...

Hi there, we will be in anaheim 9/16-9/19, going to Disneyland 9/17 & 9/18
We would like to go to the beach on Friday the 16th, but we aren't renting a car. Is there a relatively easy way via public transportation to get to the beach? I would say we could take a taxi but there will be 7 of us and would get quite pricey! We will be staying right across the street from Disneyland.
I would appreciate any and all help!

Also...how is the park usually during that time of year?
how about the weather? should we worry about rain?

Your dates in September should be good weather. Usually gets pretty hot during that month. The park should be a little less busy, since many schools will be back in session by then. For a way to get to the beach, you should try the OCTA bus system. I know a bus runs down Harbor, almost to the beach, but you'll have to transfer to another bus to actually get the rest of the way there. Check for routes on their website: http://www.octa.net Both Newport and Huntington are good beaches.

You might consider an rental van for the day. Some of the companies pickup and deliver. For 7 people it would be a lot more convienent and quicker than public transit. You could also stop along the way for snacks, drinks, etc. That would also be the day to plan a special night time outing such as Medieval Times or an Angels game (they play the Tigers at 7pm) and then return the car the next morning.

We thought about renting a van, but we want to hit the park when it opens and returning it would delay that...but we'll see. Thanks for the info!
Oh, speaking of Medieval times...I checked the website...is it really like $50.00 per person.

If you can get to the beach via public transportation with reasonable ease, I'd recommend doing it. We spent an afternoon at the beach a couple weeks ago, Sunday, 7/31, and it was very difficult to find a place to park.
