Getting the marriage licence in Orlando ?

Hi! I'm going a little nuts trying to plan our wedding (luckily its only my fiancee and I or else I'd totally lose my mind!) and am wondering how people got their marriage licence once in Orlando. We don't want to use the mail order companies.
Our disney package starts on the 26th of April, and we arrive the 25th and were planning at staying at a hotel in downtown Orlando or near the airport then first thing in the morning, going to the courthouse to get the licence, then straight on the Disney!
Now here is my slew of questions:

How long does it take to get the licence once at the office?

Should we stay downtown and walk to the licence office (if there are cheaper hotels near there) or stay near the airport and take a cab with all our luggage to the courthouse?

We are unfamiliar with Orlando and was wondering cab rates, or if public transit is do-able or reccomended?

We planned a trip with our EC to have a ride from our hotel down to get our license, I don't recall how much we paid. We were picked up in a limo, taken to Kissimmee for our license and then brought back. All together we were gone just over 2 hours I think. There wasn't much of a line, we went on Thursday morning. I'm thinking we paid around $125 for the limo? It was a nice treat, we didn't have to worry about finding our way and he told us exactly what to do.

Following the Disney directions it was EXTREMELY easy to get to and from the courthouse. It was about 25 minutes each way from Boardwalk. Took about 5 minutes once there, and there was ample free parking at the Courthouse. Have fun, and don't stress out!

We had arranged thru our planner to be picked up by town car from the airport, taken directly to the courthouse. Jack dropped us off, we went in and came out in about 10 mins.

Jack then took us to the hotel. Swoop, swoop. Very convenient.

Jack used to work for Mears and now works on his own. We have used him every trip since and he has become part of the family.

Best part was we took him back to the airport and it did not cost us a thing. We just gave him our mears vouchers. But that was 7 years ago.

We have marveled many times since how lucky we got that day - or I guess it was meant to be.

For us, it was easier to get it out of the way on the way to our hotel. That way we got it over with and could just start out vacation before the wedding.

We went on a Thursday afternoon to the Kissimmee Court House to get ours done. There was a very long line and we had to wait about 2.5 hours to get it done. They were short handed that day (in the middle of June) and only had one person doing all of the marriage certificate/wedding ceremonies. I would check in to the hotel first and then have a towncar pick you up to go to the courthouse. You will have to go through security at the courthouse (metal detector etc...) and you probably don't want to do that with luggage (and you probably don't want to risk leaving your bags with the cab driver on the meter either!).

I'm getting married at the Disney Pavillion on March 27th with a reception at the Grand Floridian. We are also trying to figure out the logistics of getting our marriage license.

A follow up question to "4orm"

What is the procedure once the ceremony has been performed? Does it need to be notarized? Brought back to the court house?
Can it be mailed?

I've seen lots of conflicting information.

We are leaving the morning after our wedding for a cruise so I'm worried about what needs to be done after the ceremony. Any help would be much appreciated.
