Getting Southwest credits when booked with credits

My family booked flights in June 2015 for our January 2016 trip. Prices dropped several times and I got multiple credits. We just booked flights for May 2016 and used the credits, but because we had so many, we needed to book our outbound and return flights separately to be able to use them all. The credits went against the outbound flights and we paid credits and cash for the return flights.

Now the outbound flights dropped and I would like to call for credits, but will the credits expire in June 2016 (one year after original purchase) or February 2017 (one year after flights were booked)? There is no point in getting credits if it is the former as we won't have an opportunity to use them before then.

They revert to original flight date.
Thanks, I did call and get the credits and they told me the same thing. That really irks me when I just bought the tickets yesterday and could have saved $75 by waiting one day.

Is there any way to combine Southwest credits with RR points? For example, using credits to reduce the fare and then paying the balance with RR points?

The entire ticket will expire one year from the date of the oldest credit. So June 2016.

In the past, a few times I combined some medium and smaller credits (for the same person), before they expired, then waited until they expired and I had a trip coming, and converted to a LUV voucher. Which can be used by anyone. (They used to charge $75, it might be $100 now?) You might have a year to do this, then 6 months to use the LUV voucher? Anyone planning on doing this, please check the rules first.

Only did this when time was running out and I could not use the credits in time, or they were for family members with no trip coming up before expiration.
