This is my first time to post about a trip, but after reading everyone's trip plans, seems like fun!!! Plus, it's a way to keep me occupied until the day is actually here.
First of all, we live in Colorado.
The Characters - Mark - That is me. I went to Disneyworld a few times as a kid and never went back. Then after getting married and having a little girl, we went twice in 2006, twice in 2007, twice in 2008 and once in 2009. What all those years have in common is that we go after the first week of December. My kids even think Disneyworld is a holiday, they say "Daddy I can't wait for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Disneyworld and Christmas". My favorite park is Magic Kingdom, but Animal Kingdom and Epcot run a close second/third.
Pam - My wife who has been cool enough to do the trip every year and although she's not nearly the Disney freak that I am, deep down I think she loves it, she'll just never admit it out loud.
Preslee - 7 year old daughter. She lives for this trip.
Natalie Reese - 3 year old daughter. She potty-trained for this trip and that is the only thing that made her do it. This will be the first year that I think she will really grasp what is going on around her.
The Details - We ALWAYS stay at AKL. We are going from December 4th - 14th.
Day 1 - Epcot and Tutti Italia
Day 2 - Animal Kingdom during the day / Very Merry Christmas Party in the evening, dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern
Day 3 - Magic Kingdom and Crystal Palace
Day 4 - Hollywood Studios and Mama Melrose (first time to eat here)
Day 5 - Downtown disney / Animal Kingdom no dinner plans
Day 6 - Magic Kingdom and Ohana (first time to eat here)
Day 7 - Blizzard Beach (weather permitting) / Epcot and Teppan Edo (first time to eat here), then Candlelight Processional.
Day 8 - Epcot and Le Cellier Steakhouse (first time to eat here, been trying for 3 years)
Day 9 - Animal Kingdom during the day / Very Merry Christmas Party in the evening, dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern
Day 10 - Magic Kingdom and Crystal Palace
Day 11 - Downtown Disney then fly home
My favorite things about this time of year and Disney -
NOBODY can beat the Christmas feeling that you get at Disney. Not only the Christmas party and Candlelight Processional, it's the whole vibe at every hotel and every park.
Love AKL, every night grab a beer after the festivities (if bar still open) and sit outside by the fire and reflect on the day.
Thunder Mountain Railroad at night with my 7 year old, when we get to the top and see Cinderella's Castle all lit up with icicles, we smile at each other and understand what a special moment it is.
Cocoa and sugar cookies at the Christmas party
Oh well, that's all I got for now, counting down the days.
If anyone has any suggestions on something I'm missing, please let me know. Can't wait to post the actual trip details and pics once it happens. Well, actually yes I can because it means the trip will be over.
