Getting ready for Thanksgiving at Disney!

We are arriving at OKW on November 22 also, have reservations for the luau at the Polynesian. Staying through Monday, the 26th, so we can go to the Christmas Party at MK on the 25th. Can't wait!

We are staying at okw too and going to the luau on the 20th.

It's good to hear all the positive responses to Thanksgiving in the parks. Going at non-peak times is getting harder to do with DD13's school work.
We are going on a cruise with extended family out of Port Canaveral and get off the boat Thanksgiving morning. We were planning to hit US/IOA for the day then head home Friday morning but DD's BFF is performing in the parade at MK T-Day so we decided we just have to try and see her! I'm waitlisted for AKL & BLT but I know it's a one in a million shot so we have ressies for POP. I know it will be crazy packed but we are prepared to just try to spot BFF in the parade T-Day, get a few rides in at one of the parks Friday and enjoy the holiday decorations!

Looks like I'll be passing on our trip there for Thanksgiving this year... So a 2 BR in AKV Kidani should be opening up today or tomorrow depending on when I get a hold of MS. :(

We will be at SSR 11/14 - 23 for our first real Thanksgiving stay. Last year DH and I arrived the Sat after T-day and really didn't have any problem with the crowds. This year we have 3 days by ourselves before family joins us. This is a big birthday celebration. My granddaughter and I share the same birthday with Mickey, Nov 18! She will be 6 and I will be 60.

We ( the 8 of us) arrive the Monday before and depart the Friday after! We will be at OKW, I am baking 2 turkey breasts and all of the trimmings in my DVC kitchen! We (the adults) will be having dinner out on the lovely patio and the kids by the TV watching football!

2 of us (not I) are golfing in the AM, the day of and the rest are doing the parks in the am! I will be cooking which I thoroughly enjoy! On holidays like this we like to eat around 1pm, that way we can have cold turkey sandwiches late in the evening!

Looking forward to it!

I've cooked multiple Thanksgiving dinners in the villa. It's fun, relaxing and something about being at WDW makes it cozy! Enjoy!

ok We've given up our AKV reservation. Hope that helps someone here's Wait list. Enjoy! Tomorrow, find the ADR confirmation numbers and let those go too.

This will be our first Thanksgiving in Disney. I booked SSR just 2 days ago and was shocked to get it. Although I had to split 2 days in a studio and 2 days in a 1 bedroom. Im good with that. I had extra point this year and this was a good way to use them up.

I figured it would be very crowded so I have prepared myself for that, but we have never been in the parks during the winter holidays so I am beyond excited to see the castle lit up and the osborne lights.

We couldnt get good airfare so we will suck it up and drive from Maryland.

I just cant wait!

We're headed to Disney for the first time for Thanksgiving to watch the West Virginia Mountaineers in the Old Spice Classic. Very excited since the only time I was at WWS was for the Marathon weekend. Not sure how Thanksgiving dinner will go, but we'll see :stir:

We are also arriving on thanksgiving. Been to the world 10+ times, but never saw it decorated for a holiday. I am so excited! I know the crowds are busy, but taking it with a grain of salt. I just can't wait!

We are flying down on Tuesday night before TD and staying at Kidani for two nights...all 22 of us and then we have a thanksgiving luncheon at liberty tree tavern planned after which we will check in at the BWV for 10nights all in boardwalk view rooms with one Grand villa. I have do this every three years or so at this time and its perfect. The holiday decorations, the weather and the crowds are perfect for us. We do nothing but enjoy the ambiance at the beginning of the week and then after Thanksgiving we enjoy the lower crowd levels to see what we want . Patriots are palying the jets on thanksgiving so we will have a holiday party at the Grand villa that night. Getting really excited now.

Wow, sounds wonderful! 22 people???!!!I can't imagine co ordinating all of that.

We will be at AKV from the 16th-22nd. We have been to WDW many times but never at the holidays. We cannot wait to see the decorations. The crowds will be a change for us due to we normally go during January but I know it will be a great trip regardless. All that matters to me is I have 2 1/2 days to work and then our trip begins......:woohoo:

We are at SSR on the 23 and 24th, then move over to VWL on the 25th through the 1st. I cannot wait. 11 more days.

I am shocked at the couple of responses saying the Friday after is OK. That has not been my experience the last two years. The last two years were wall to wall on Friday. (At least the Magic Kingdom). This year we are leaving late on Thanksgiving day to avoid the Friday after.

We are coming in that Friday and we plan on going to DTD for the day until the room is ready. We are very unusual in that we only go to the parks for a couple of rides and lunch, then head back to the room for a nap and relaxation. For Friday and Saturday we figure we will be very relaxed and wander around either DTD or Boardwalk or something. We can always belly up to a bar and people watch. It is a lot of fun! Then on Sunday we switch resorts so will need to wander around a bit until our next room is available. Shouldn't be too bad.

Brrrr---it's looking cold for Thanksgiving week. Highs only in the low 70s and 50s at night!

It's still a lot better than the 40's we are having in NY. Can't wait 6 more days!!!!!

Was hoping for 80's, but will gladly take those temps. It does look like it begins to warm up at the end of the week. Planning on hitting Typhoon Lagoon on the Friday after Thanksgiving. We have never been so the kids are excited. They don't get cold, so it will just be me not wanting to get in the water. Only one more day. We leave tomorrow!:cool1:(yes my countdown is off)
