We ll be there too. We dinner ressies at wcc

Worst day I ever spent at a park was the Friday after Thanksgiving at MK. Wall to wall people. Now, starting Monday after Thanksgiving is awesome! Plan accordingly and have fun!

We usually get there the fri or sat before and leave the Friday after. Traffic on the rd home isn't as bad as the sat after

We'll be there as well - starting the Thursday before and staying for 9 nights. I know it is going to be crazy, but we plan to be park commandos the first half of our trip and then spend the back half relaxing more. Really hoping it will be warm enough to go to a water park - which we have never done before - but really unsure about the weather. Hoping it will be warm enough to enjoy some lazy afternoons by the pool. We plan on hitting EMH at MK on Thanksgiving, leaving before lunch, relaxing at AKV, and then heading over for a late dinner at Rose and Crown and 7:45 and Illuminations. I know it will be crowded, but I can't wait!:)

We'll be vacationing too, but it is a short one... I wanted to head down the Thurs prior and stay until Friday after, but my responsible son didn't want to miss too many days of school :sad1: (too much homework in the honors classes, I guess)... That's just so darn responsible of him!

(I considered going down early with my younger DD, and then having him and my husband fly down later, but I figured it would be a bad parenting move.)

Anyway, we settled on flying out Monday after school and returning on Saturday. At least we get a little fix! :)

We are going down the Friday before so that we can catch mvmcp and coming back the Sunday after. Going with 18 of our favorite family members!! :scared:
Just hoping everyone can get along...

Hmm, we always hit MK Friday am before our evening flight out. Never had a problem and usually get on Space Mountain multiple times.

This will be our first T-giving in 15 years when we have not gone to Disney...I cry when I think about it, and still haven't given up all hope of a last minute (crazy-expensive) "run" on down Wed-Sun...even if I have to pay cash for a hotel room and the "war debt" for two plane tickets on the busiest travel days of the year!

DS is starting a new job 11/12...he has no idea what his time off will be (except there won't be much...vacation just 2 weeks after starting? Not likely!)...

I'm not sure I know how to do T-giving anywhere BUT Disney!

Anyway, his new job is in NYC (I live in the Washington, DC suburbs), so maybe I'll be taking the train north...I keep telling myself T-giving in NYC should be wondrous...but it's not Disney.

You-all are now "obligated" to have twice as much fun as you normally would, once for yourselves, and once for me!

We ( the 8 of us) arrive the Monday before and depart the Friday after! We will be at OKW, I am baking 2 turkey breasts and all of the trimmings in my DVC kitchen! We (the adults) will be having dinner out on the lovely patio and the kids by the TV watching football!

2 of us (not I) are golfing in the AM, the day of and the rest are doing the parks in the am! I will be cooking which I thoroughly enjoy! On holidays like this we like to eat around 1pm, that way we can have cold turkey sandwiches late in the evening!

Looking forward to it!

I know where you are coming from, we did an early November trip last year and skipped T-giving last year and this year we are going to VGC in early November so no Turkey day again at WDW.

So back to doing the "dog and pony" meal for extended family, you would have thought for 6 yrs they would have forgotten about coming to my house, but no.

Last year, I smoked a couple of turkey breasts in my smoker and made cornbread stuffing. My guys loved it, the rest of the family was "how could you". Basically said, if I am home I am trying different but still traditional foods for Thanksgiving, if you don't like it stay at home and cook for yourself.

One more round of complaining this year, and I will be at WDW for Thanksgiving 2013, the guys can come if they want.

Arriving on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, cooking Thanksgiving dinner in our villa and staying away from the parks and catching football at the ESPN club on Friday. I am so ready to be out of Chicago area for a few days!

We are T-day week vets and have always had the BEST day in MK on the Friday after Thanksgiving!! We are there at park opening and usually find it DESERTED. We ride all the biggies multiple times!

My DH and I are going down on the Friday after Thanksgiving and staying 2nts at SSR then switching on Sunday to VWL for 7 nts. We plan on chilling out down at DTD on Friday and if it is too busy, then we will check out the pool or a nice book in the room. We like to sit with a bottle of wine on the patio, so if that is all it is, we will be perfectly happy doing that. This trip is supposed to be relaxing since our previous two trips this year have been very hectic. Our previous trip at Thanksgiving was a nightmare and not sure we will ever try that again, but we will have to wait and see. We were commandoing the parks because we brought my BIL with us and he had never been. We will pick another week if we ever decide to do that again! haha Maybe we will see you there!

we'll be there from the 17th-24th. 2nd time there over Thanksgiving....and looking forward to it:thumbsup2

Not at the World, but we're with Disney. This will be our seventh consecutive year at the Hilton Head Island resort. Last night DH signed up for the Thanksgiving morning 5K and free beer. As he always says, he runs so that he can justify eating all the Signe's pie!

If you want to see some college BASKETBALL that week, the Old Spice Classic will feature some great teams playing at ESPN Wide World of Sports. Games start Thanksgiving Day with the championship game to be played Sunday night. Come cheer on these student athletes!

Arriving at OKW on Thanksgiving Nov 22!! Checking in and having early dinner at Liberty Tree tavern!! Can't wait!! We leave on Fri, Nov 30th:(

We are arriving on Thanksgiving day and staying until 12/1. I can't wait. My DS and his fiancee moved to Gainesville this year so they will be joining us for the 4 day weekend and I can't wait to see them. :)

We did this same time frame 3 years ago and it worked out great. The first 3 days we did a lot of shows and rides that are fast loaders and then the crowds died out from Sunday on.

There are 2 little girls who will turn 7 and 8 at the beginning of Nov who are in for the surprise of their lives. Neither knows about the trip yet. Our niece is the 7 year old and she is going to find out on her b-day on the 10th. The 8 year old is our friend's daughter and they aren't telling her until we wake her up at 3 AM on Thanksgiving morning to leave for our 6 AM flight! :rotfl:

We are arriving at OKW on November 22 also, have reservations for the luau at the Polynesian. Staying through Monday, the 26th, so we can go to the Christmas Party at MK on the 25th. Can't wait!
