Getting ready for our cruise

Great door decorations, Wayne! Can't wait to make mine for September... :goodvibes Nothing like a DCL cruise... :cloud9: Hope you, Karen and Matt have a wonderful time... And Happy Anniversary in advance!!! :thumbsup2

And Happy Anniversary in advance!!! :thumbsup2

20 years has gone so fast. Our Anniversary is actually on 2nd Sept but we are making this whole trip a celebration for it as its Disney's year of Celebrations.

I wasn't sure about posting this thread about cruising but glad I did now, forgotten how many of us are doing a cruise this year.
Done 4 Disney cruises and 2 RCCL, never met another British family on any of them, this one there are about 4 or 5 other families on our cruise, might be more they are only the ones registered for the DIS meet.

Tell me about it!!! We're celebrating our 27th this September and I can't begin to understand where the time has gone... Celebrate and have an amazing time - you guys deserve it... :goodvibes

Hi Wayne
I'm so excited to hear your dining reviews and your experience eating onsite.
I wonder whether you will do DDP again after?

I know you are a food expert and can't wait to hear your opinions!

Outside every cabin is a fish, people hang FE onto the fish with pockets in so others on the cruise can leave you gifts, there are 17 families incl about 40 children participating in our FE gift exchange.

Pic of them here http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&q=fish extender&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi

Thanks for the explanation! I think I'll have to give the cruises a wide berth (pardon the pun)! My crafting skills are next to useless, so I expect I'd be made to walk the plank for not coming up to scratch!

American friend of mine lives near Seattle, just been talking to her on messenger, her husband has to ring about a job in Florida tomorrow. I will be so jealous if they move down there.

i have a few friends living in florida who NEVER go to WDW - can you believe it???????????????????????????
they should be tarred and feathered....

Almost we are next door 5022. Always try get one of these, best value cabins aboard IMO.:thumbsup2

which one is 5022? secret porthole? navigator verandah?

on our very first cruise we had a scottish dis family on board...i can't remember who it was though...

we're signed up for the podcast cruise in december 2010....
i was originally scheduled to go on the first podcast cruise, but DS decided to get married that very week...so i had to cancel....

our wedding anniversary is sept 3rd.....it will be our 31st this year...
we'll be at WDW...and the next day, sept 4th is DH's 54th birthday...
so i guess he'll get one of those gift cards at the park....woo hoo.... :woohoo:
we didn't purposely aim for those dates, it just worked out that way....

Its a secret porthole cabin. Pay for inside get a porthole. Our 1st cruise we were upgraded to verandah, used it for about 10 mins, total waste for us. We have always managed to get a secret porthole except last Easter, had 2 inside cabins.

Karen got the gift card for her Birthday in May, still to use it, she has no idea what to buy, we never buy anything in Disney, was hoping to use on cruise but you can't.

OMG - DD could help you out, no problem....i think two stuffed animals would take care of that $75 in a flash...

DS likes the villain boxer shorts at DHS (in the villain shop there)..

how about something for the kitchen....a MM spatula? a MM apron...
lots of stuff you can waste $75 on..

i think you can also use it to pay for a backstage tour....there are some nice tours...

and i think you can also use it for some of the sports activites - boating, biking...

The kitchen is mine, she won't spend her gift on my kitchen:rotfl2:

We have a ban on stuffed toys, we struggle to get in the bedroom for them, both Disney and Stieff.

Not sure on tours but only one we want to do is Keys to the Kingdom, annoying its for 16 years and over, Matt is almost 6'3 and probably knows more Disney trivia than majority of Disney CM's but still a year before he is 16.

I think she is going to look for a watch again, looked in May but couldn't see one she liked.

Excellent decs!!!! I absolutely loved making all of those for our first cruise this year - we really got into it! Makes you feel you really belong when you see all the other decorated doors!

DS went on lots of tours before he was old enough....he's very tall too...
has been since he was born....no one ever asked him his age....they always asked his sister - who is 3 years OLDER than him (she was always outraged when they asked her and not him)...

he wasn't even carded at pleasure island when he was 17 (instead of 21)...not that he drank, but they never forced him to wear the underage wristband there (and always carded his older sister, again much to her outrage)...

Thats pretty cool.
I wonder if I made one and hung it on the door of our villa when we go people would pop by and leave us prezzies :goodvibes

Not sure that will happen.

I got seasick cruising down the Nile once, and DW had to take such a strong travel pill before crossing the channel she slept for about 2 days

Shame though because the pics I've seen and reports I've read are all positive and certainly make it look like something that has to be done to be appreciated.

Before I went on a Disney ship the nearest I got to cruising was a pleasure boat at Scarborough or ferry to Isle of Wight, I was same thought I would be ill the whole 4 nights. Couldn't have been more wrong, apart from going in and out of Port Canaveral I hardly knew I was afloat.
So glad I tried it.:goodvibes
