We are looking forward to our visit the weekend after laborday, The weekend of September 10th, staying through Wednesday.

We have reservations at The Grand.

Because we usually go every year in Jan-March we are used to no crowds, maybe even some rain and are hoping for the same experience this September as most locals will be in school. Any tips on going that time of year, local weather, how busy it will be etc are appreciated.

Have a great trip! We will be at GC Labor Day weekend. It will be our first time staying there and I cannot wait!

Our SoCal vacation starts the weekend after Labor Day too! We are stopping off in San Diego and Hollywood before we make it to DL. Like you, we are also staying at the Grand (9-12 to 9-19).

Like you, we've never been in September. I don't expect it to be too busy because it's after the busy season and right before Halloween starts. I think we'll be combating the AP holders in DCA as they try to catch WOC. Weather should be nice, but who knows...it's been an unusual year down there so far this year.

Enjoy it, it's our favorite hotel! There's only one bad thing about staying at the GCH and that is leaving...it's so hard to check out of the room on your last day. :sad1:

We will be at GCH 9/2-9/6 then finishing the trip in San Diego 9/6-9/9. will u be spending the night in SD? If yes, where r u staying? We will be at pacific terrace. I can't wait to check that hotel out!

As far as weather goes, Sept is usually very warm here (can even reach into the 90s), but we've had a mild summer, so who knows? :confused3 I'd check the weather just a few days before you leave, and pack accordingly. Days will likely be warm (70s, 80s) and then it cools off considerably at night. Early mornings can be chilly too. Humidity is usually low or non-exsistent, so rain is highly unlikely.

LOL...we're checking into the Pacific Terrace on 9/10.

We land in San Diego at 9:30 on 9/10, will check-in to The Pacific Terrace and then go to Sea World for the day. We will check out on 9/11 and drive to Hollywood and check-in to The Renaissance Hollywood Hotel and then visit USH and City Walk. We will check-out on 9/12, visit the walk of stars, Disney's Soda Fountain, etc...and then head down to the GCH for the rest of our trip.

You better take care of the hotels! If I see any problems at either place, I know who to blame it on now since you'll be checking in/out of both places right before us! :rotfl2:

Crowd wise, it will be a perfect time to go. At least close to perfect! We go this weekend almost every year. The crowds are very low and most kids are back in school. It will likely be hot, but it makes it feel summery. The evenings will be cool. Have a magical trip. :)

We go every year and usually stay at The Grand and have never had problems checking out.

I am hoping CA schools are in session that week so it won't be too busy. In fact I think that's why we got The Grand for $200 a night. ... a steal of a deal right now.

Because we usally go in Jan-March and are from the Northwest I don't mind some rain... but I would like to be prepared. It sounds like it's been warm there... so we'll do shorts, capris and sweatshirts? Any info on current weather conditions appreciated!

IN SAN DIEGO DON'T MISS HOTEL DEL CORONADO!! We went there for an anniversary and it was wonderful! Even just to visit for the day, but it's a great place to spend a couple nights.

Wow what are the odds that we are staying at the same places!!!??? Crazy!!! LOL! I will take care of the hotel for you! Have you ever stayed at Pacific Terrace before? I booked it because of the great reviews on trip advisor...
