not sure if this belongs on theme park or resorts:

We are getting a pkg with free dining and 7 day park passes. We will also be doing a room only at the beach club 2 days before our pkg starts. We wanted to go to Epcot but will not have checked in yet for our pkg. Is there any way we can get the pkg tickets in advance to use earlier?

I do not believe so. That's the catch of a Disney package - or one of them.

You can check-in early on the day of your check-in though and drop your bags off and at least get full use of that day. OR atleat as early as you're able to check out of one resort and get to the new one. Somehow, we're never able to get it all done until around 11 at the earliest, but that's us. If they have a room available, they may let you in that early, if not, they will store your bags in a secure location. Some resorts may bring your bags to the room for you, at others you may have to pick up your bags yourself.

You will not be able to get your package ticketes in advance, but you can order tickets on line to have ahead of time, or you can buy additional tickets when you get to WDW.

Im in the same boat as you.. but only 1 night before.. i think we are goign to explore the resort and maybe DTD.

I plan on getting up early on my package start date to get my tickets.

You can get them early, but it can only be done at the parks and it's a very difficult process that they don't really like to use often. Basically the park calls the resort to find out what kind of ticket you have, then when you check in they void the tickets on your room keys. The problem is if you can never have your keys replaced after that, so if you loose one the charging and dining plan cannot be cancelled.

Hi iluvepcot...I posted on a thread about this last week I will cut and paste what info I posted about it for you.......unfortunatley I have no idea hoe to put links for threads into a post so I will cut and paste...sorry.

(I have posted on this before and I know people on the boards will caution you that this might not work or will cause problems but we did it this past August with not one bit of trouble. We were not even staying on disney property until the following week. We were at Orange Lake the first week with a 7 day package with 10 day tix and free dining at the WL the next week. We wanted our tix early so we could go to the parks while staying at orange lake. We went to the guest relations at epcot (but any customer relations should do) and they pulled the tix off our package no problem...it took 10 min! When we checked in at the lodge they noted we already had our tix and never said a word about our room keys being nonreplaceable??(is that a word ) anyway we had been told by AAA, DU and in an actual email from Disney that this could not be done. But then I read something on Deb's site in the section on tix that described just your situation of an continuing stay and that it was not widely known but tix could be seperated and you just needed to get someone who could do it...(guest services) I always go by the old advise...Never take a no from someone who can't give you a yes in the first place!! Good Luck

I found the info...This is what I read that made me inquire about getting my tickets early.........Question....(I booked a package with Disney that includes multiday MYW tickets but I will be there several days before my check in date, staying offsite. Is there anyway I can use those tickets before I arrive at the Disney resort?)..........

Answer (Yes there is. In the past, package tickets were tied solely to your check in date and could only be encoded onto your resort ID. Not so now. Your MYW tickets can be obtained up to 5 days prior to your check in date at Guest Relations or up to 3 days prior at your resort's Lobby Concierge. You must have continuing reservations (example: a seven day trip with a three day reservation not on the package followed immediately by a four day reservation on the package AT THE SAME RESORT ONLY) to do this. You will only be able to receive paper tickets when doing this and they cannot be transferred to your resort ID at any time.

But a word of warning on this: the procedure to do this is not widely known by all CMs and does entail a little extra effort on their part. It's very time consuming and complicated to do. Don't be surprised if you are told no. Ask the CM to check with their supervisor if they say they cannot do it. Currently, this is a case of some CMs can and will do it while others can't/won't.

P.S. It was not time consuming at all and we did not have continuing ressies we were at orange lake and we still got them.)

You have purchased a package that begins on the day you check in for that reservation. When you purchased that package and paid for it, you agreed to the policies that govern the reservation. The policies include the fact that the components such as tickets and dining do not start until after you check in for the package. As some have posted above there are EXTREME EXCEPTIONS (generally an error on Disney's part, not just splitting up your package to get free dining) where Disney can apparently issue tickets prior to the package check in; however, remember that such an action is contrary to Disney policy. So if you try to get your tickets early and are told no, please don't blame or castigate the CM for following the rules that you agreed to when you purchased your package.

The biggest red flag here.. is that because of this all works in Disney's computer systems..

AFTER you have checked in .. if you lose a room key (with charging or dining priviledges for example) -- it cannot be replaced or cancelled from your room.

That to me .. is big enough reason not to do this.

Thank you all. I will try to do this when I am there. yes I do understand it is a courtesy and no I will not get upset with anyone if i am turned down. As I stated in my initial thread, I plan on bringing old park passes to use if I need them.

thank you all for the warnings about the lost room keys. I have noted this and will be extremely careful with my keys.

I just wanted to see if it was worth the attempt to try to pursue this and it seems it is.

thanks again to everyone who answered
