???Getting pkg deal and applying old tickets rule????

I can't remember rule on this....If I get a pkg w/ either a discount or ticket upgrade, can I ask WDW to apply my old 1-day tickets to the cost of the pkg? or do I have to just start over w/ tickets if I get a "pkg"?
I know w/ a room-only, it's not a problem w/ upgrading my old tickets.

Well, I know that we had to keep our old NE tickets to use at the parks last trip. They couldn't add those days to our new room key, or so our CM said. We just had 4 keys to carry around.
