Anyone have any experience getting out of their cell phone contract early? I am not really wanting to pay the $150 charge to get out of my US Cellular contract. I found some websites that you can sell the rest of your contract. Any thoughts on that??
TIA

I was told this works with Sprint I know you don't have Sprint but you might be able to do something similar.

They will allow you to change your plan to one of the pay as you go programs. Once you have that after a month once the minutes are gone you don't have to add any more.

Good luck I was stuck with Sprint for years but I am finally free!!!

I'm not familiar with US Cellular, but I can't say I've heard of selling the rest of a cell phone contract. Looking on US Cellular's web site, section 7 lists one of the two ways I know of to get out of a contract: changes in the terms of your contract. If they make any changes, like up the price of a text message, you can cancel with no penalty. The only other way I know to cancel is to move to an area that doesn't have coverage or has very spotty coverage.

Unless the selling thing is legit, you're probably better off either waiting out the contract or taking the $150 ETF hit. Many cell providers have a much higher ETF these days... I'm surprised it isn't $250+.
