What "strategy" do you employ to make your debarkation from the ship at CC stress free? We were on the fantasy in October of 2014 and while it was a sold out sailing, we felt the ship absorbed the crowds really well, EXCEPT when trying to get off the ship at CC. We weren't trying to be the first ones off, but we weren't waiting around until past noon either. It was a cluster, to say the least. The crowds were all the way up a few flights of stairs and people were getting irritable. Is there any way to avoid this? What time do the crowds thin out? We just plan to head straight to Serenity, but we do like to try to get a chair/umbrella in one of the first rows of chairs set up on the beach.

We got off the ship about 9:30-10:00 on our two Fantasy cruises with no issues.

The first thing to remember is that everyone over age 18 (I think) needs to take their photo ID as well as their kttw card when they get off the ship. Many people don't hear the announcement and jam the elevator lobby area because they're trying to swim upstream to go back to the room. The best luck we ever had getting off the ship at CC was when we happened to be on deck 3 when they made the announcement that we were cleared to disembark. Down the stairs and out the door lickety-split!!

We got off last year on our double dip both times right at all ashore time, and didn't have any issues at all. It might help that we always stay on deck 2 and just walk a flight of stairs?

Our strategy for getting off the ship at CC is to note what time they say the gangway will be ready. We then take a nice, leisurely breakfast at exactly that time. By the time we are done eating, the lines to get off the ship are gone.

We always walk off the ship at about 9 to 10:00 AM with no problem.

Definitely remember to take your ID AND KTTWC with you so that you don't have to go back to your cabin and get it. This happened ALOT this past week on the Dream. There were many people who were told to go get their ID who probably missed the announcement to bring it in the first place.
This led to one person going back to the cabin, but little groups waiting in the debarkation area for them to return. A couple of kids and a parent times 5 groups adds up to a mass of people just waiting and in the way.

We also got off around 9:30 and no problems, maybe one or two people in front of us. Must be a good time to go.

If you have a later arrival time at CC or if the ship is delayed for some reason this causes the lines to be long getting off the ship. But typically the ship docks on time there shouldn't be a problem

Thanks guys! Good to know - I like the idea of getting breakfast when the announcement is made and then heading out after. That's probably what we'll try. I don't want to be in the middle of that mob again!!

We always get breakfast around the all ashore time then make a nice peaceful walk to the beach. Once, we got off right at the all ashore time and it was a little more chaotic, though not overwhelming. People want to run down and drop their towels on the front recliners and then go back to the ship. Thing is, unless you have to be right near the water, don't bother. There are tons of recliners even if you come much later in the morning. In my opinion, unless you are trying to get the most out of your private cabana or doing the 5k, there is no reason to battle the traffic at all ashore time.

Can't recall any issues on our last Fantasy cruise. Plan to do the 5K run this year so should be off the ship earlier so crowds will hopefully be low.
