Getting off in Nassau

I am traveling on the Dream in a couple of months with my mom. We are really hoping to get off in Nassau so we can go to the casino in Atlantis. We are considering taking a taxi but wonder if it is safe for two females traveling alone. Does anyone have any experience with taxis there?

Absolutely it's safe !
We've been there many,many times. We've taken taxis to Cable Beach...the Sheraton and several taxis to Atlantis. You will probably be in a taxi van with other cruise passengers. They'll drop you off at the hotels' front door. On the return there are many taxis lining up waiting to bring you back to the ship.
Just make sure you are firm and that you just want to go to Atlantis. They might try to talk you into a tour of the island.
