Getting nervous that I haven't booked Oct. yet - should I worry about availability?

We can't book our resort until the MNSSHP schedule comes out since we want to do an early October weekday date and it sound like the schedule can vary a little bit. I'm sure we're not the only ones! Do you think that availability will still be good in late April/early May as long as we call ASAP after the schedule is announced? DH really wants YC/BC because this will be our first trip where it will be warm enough to swim!

I would think you will be fine but this is F&W festival time and YB is popular for that. If YB is a deal maker, maybe you should consider making to ressies now and cancelling one later when the dates are confirmed

I was very nervous about the same thing. We had a trip planned for last week, but at the last minute, had to move the trip up to Dec 14-19th 2004. I was nervous because our trip included the weekend before Christmas and I was afraid there would be no availability at ASMo. 10 days before the trip, I was able to book a room online. I called to try to get a room discount, but I couldnt get it. I had to pay rack rate, but I was able to get a room on such short notice. I think you will be OK......

I thought this might help you. Here are the 2004 MNSSHP dates. I figured you could match these up with the October 2005 calendar and try to hedge your bets on which days to pick.

Dates for 2004: October 1, 3, 8, 12, 14, 17, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29, and 31.

We love the party too and are going the week of October 15th. Enjoy!

We're planning a late October trip also and I haven't booked our resort yet. I'm a little nervous about the same thing too since it seems like a even more popular time to go. October sounds like it's a great time, especially with MNSSHP and the F & W festival. It'll be our second trip to WDW! (and our very first in October!) I hope you won't have any trouble getting the resort for the dates that you want and have a fantastic trip.

I also have a question about availability during October. There's going to the the FUNAI golf classic from the 21-23, should I worry about the availability of the resorts, particularly the Grand Floridian around this time?

Try calling disney reservations. The castmembers are great.I love when they come out with the discounted rates for the Disney Hotels. But generally those rates come out with only a couple of months to spare so I usually book a room in the hotel I am interested in at the going rate. They get my deposit and when the discounted rate comes out I can modify my reservation and move the date around a bit to accomodate our plans and I have never had a problem .
In fact, I just reserved a room at AKL for October 2005 and the castmember was extremely helpful and told me I can apply my discount when it comes available.
I also will be going to MNSSHP but I understand they have the party several days a week throughout the month. Enjoy the planning. October is a great time to go!This will be our first MNSSHP-can't wait!

We booked our October room, in 2003, in May. Even with the Fairy Tale Package, we had our choice of resorts.

Thanks, everyone! As I mentioned, I think there can be some variation in the scheduling of MNSSHP and that is why I didn't want to book. However, I think I am going to put my eggs in one basket for right now and hope they have one that first Sunday in October - that way we catch the last few days of value season too. :cool1:

I believe if you start your vacation during value season, you get the whole stay at that rate too!
