We leave in 2 1/2 weeks and I am getting nervous!

Our last trip was a disaster from beginning to end, one of our children got ill, ended up in the hospital and we had to stay an extra week because he could not fly home. We went WAY over budget and did not have any fun - just a lot of stress...

I am nervous about this time!! I just hate the thought of spending all this money and having something go wrong (again). Our trip is paid off, our tickets are in hand, the kids are excited... I just hope that everything goes okay this time. Send some pixie dust!

Think of the last trip as a scouting trip - you know the worst that can happen.

I always tell people to keep their expectations in check - you can't see it all in one trip, the weather cannot be perfect, you cannot control other people (even your children) but they can control you if you let them ....

Come on classicpooh.

Remember to keep things in perspective. It's terrible that the last time your child was ill, but consider that everything turned out o.k and that you have another chance for a trip. There are people who never get an opportunity to go to WDW. Put the issues you had in perspective to life and your stress level will decrease. Worry about things like your family's health. That's what's important and worth a worry and some stress. Try to concentrate on the good things that happen, like when your child tells you they love you, etc.

Take care.

Relax. You can't control everything. I know how you feel, though. My father had a mini-stroke while we were in Orlando last year. We spent most of the trip in the hospital and had to spend another week there before Dad could fly home. He had to have very delicate surgery to replace the carotid artery in his neck. But, thank heavens he is fine. And he got unbelievably wonderful care at the new Florida Hospital at Celebration. Given that my Dad recovered from his surgery and is doing fine, quite frankly, none of the rest of it matters -- added expense, difficult vacation, etc.

All you can do is go, plan on having a great time and deal with whatever happens. Not every trip will be perfect. But, since you had a difficult one last time, the odds ought to be in your favor this time. Hope you have a great time!

We're going on a cruise in September with my Mom and Dad and I'm crossing my fingers that all will be well. But, I'm not going to stop traveling and having fun just because something might happen. It might happen at home, too. That's life.

I understand your nervousness. I went during the holidays in 2001 and got SO sick, turned into pneumonia. It was one of the worst experiences ever. The next trip I made I was paranoid for weeks before the trip about every sniff and ache, started taking Vitamin C, etc.

I bet everything will turn out fine on your trip & I hope you guys have a great trip!

classicpooh.... we'll be there the same time as you! Don't worry about things you can't control. Just go and have the best time you can. You deserve a great vacation after the last one.

I'll say a prayer things go well.

My DS4 got sick on our last trip, he didn't end up in the hospital though. But I know what you mean about the trip not being "fun" like you expect it will be. Sounds like you and your family had a rough trip last time! Just think: this trip can only be better! I predict you will have a wonderful time!!

classicpooh - (love your user name!;) )

So sorry your first trip was so hard. As others have posted, take a deep breath, try to calm down and believe that this trip will be the one that will make you fall in love with WDW!! The odds are in your favor! The most important thing is, your family is with you and you're headed to see the Mouse!:bounce: What could be better?!

Have a wonderful trip, you deserve it!~ * ~ * ~ There's some PD headed at you!;)

i know how you feel. we just got back from our dream vacation that i planed and replaned over and over again always hoping that nothing would go wrong, i'm a major worrier about our trips ending up with catatropies as we have a long track record of just that happening every time we go away. so this time wasn't any different. we started out o k and adapted when us air lost our luggage, muddled thru the fact that my cell phone was lost forever in epcot on the norway ride, and toughed it out when my daughter ended up with a double inner ear infection and a double canal infection in the ears which involved major pain and three trips to the ER. we spent more in the hospitals and on medicines than we did on souviners. but we continued on and even though she didn't have the greatest time, we managed and made the best of it. hopefully in a few months we'll laugh about all the mis-haps. go enjoy. things don't always end up the way we would like it but its in our nature to make do. like my dauhgter said, she'd rather been sick in disney and trying to have a good time then to be sick at home. what a trooper!

DH and I along with our family (two dogs so far) send our best wishes and lots and lots of pixie dust for a great trip with your family!!!
:thewave:

Thanks for your good wishes... maybe I'll see some fellow Dis folks when we are there!!

Believe me - I know that a trip to Disney is far from life or death... we feel fortunate to be going at all, we have three healthy kids and feel blessed in many ways...

Our last trip was just SO stressful, I was hoping for some pixie dust for this trip. I made my last payment yesterday - we are all paid off! No matter what happens we will make the best of it! Thanks for all the pixie dust.
