Getting nervous about All Star Music

Can anyone placate my concerns? :guilty: I am not a high maintenance person and I've stayed at my share of lower end motels but I do expect some Disney magic by staying on site, even at a value resort! After reading some reviews I'm not so sure I will find the magic though. I'm hoping that most people will post only negative reviews so if anyone has something positive to say about All Star Music I'd love to hear it! :goodvibes I leave in 5 days and all moderates are booked so I cannot upgrage. I purchased the meal plan rather than pay for a moderate - we love to eat and do not plan on spending a whole lot of time in the room. TIA!

If you're looking for Disney magic in a resort, I can think of no reason why you wouldn't be happy at ASMusic. We stayed there on our 2nd trip to Disney (1999) after staying at a moderate (CBR) on our first trip. We had no complaints! :)

Don't worry about the reviews!!!! Thousands and thousands of people have GREAT hotel stays each and everyday, but most people don't spend time posting rave reviews but only negatives.

Your exp will be diff than everyone else's - go in knowing you're going to love it, have an open mind, and have a great time!

Hi there, I've got to put in my two cents on this topic. I was a bit skeptical the first time we stayed at ASMu because of reading the negative comments by people. But I have to say - I absolutley loved it. It's clean, convenient and best of all it's on site. The atmosphere there is fun. I can't say enough good things about ASMu. I would not worry at all about it. Go and enjoy yourself.

Thanks so much for your excellent replies! I subscribed to the other thread and it's just great to hear positive things about this resort! I am extremely excited and I do believe that a vacation is in a large part what you make of it. :flower: That being said, I don't think magic and a clean room is too much to ask of Disney :rotfl:

We just got back from All Star Music - our second stay, and we like it. We like the prices, the beds are comfy, the rooms are clean and we did not have any noise problems. The pool areas are nice, we like the food court especially for breakfast. Would we stay there again? Yes!

I'll add my comments too....I've stayed at all of the WDW resorts and the All Stars are really fun! Its decorated great, the rooms are fun, the pools are beautiful and honestly, you will have your own comments, so just keep that in mind....good, bad, whatever, just enjoy your time at WDW! ::MickeyMo

Again, thanks to all who posted here! I think my obsessive planning is finally catching up with me! I need to just breath deep, in and out, in and out... :earsboy: I'm going to have a great time!!

We have stayed at many sites and were there last Thanksgiving and had a great time. It is a massive facility so make sure you know your room location and how to get around prior to going to the parks.

We've stayed at Music, and we had no problems with it whatsoever. As far as theming, I liked Movies better, but we'd pick Music over Pop Century. To each his own.

I just stayed there 1 week ago and I must say they have the most comfy bed I have ever slept in. The All star resorts are massive but we always have a car so there really isnt a problem for us. I think you will have a great time. Have fun. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

The way I see it, you can always find something to complain about anywhere you go, but any experience its really what you make of it. We stayed at ASMu and ASMo a couple years ago and really liked it. We still rave about the super efficient bus system and great pool. The food court was great, too. We had a ground level room in the Jazz (?) building that walked out to a pretty New Orleans style courtyard, just a quick walk to the main building.

Don't worry about it! You'll be at Disney - you'll have a great time no matter what!

I was a little worried before I went as well, but I really liked it. I stayed at the Contemporary before, and I thought the rooms were actually more themed than at the Contemporary. Plus, I really liked that the room was really convenient to the parking, where there were always spaces close by--at the Contemporary, I was far enough away where there was no hope of me handling my luggage by myself (I am cheap and like to do it myself to save on tips.)

They still had the Mickey soaps (a new one each day) for the sink, hair dryers on request, and the occasional towel animal. That was pretty much all I needed.

Have a great trip!

I've stayed at Music, Sports, and Pop, and I like Music the best.

Negative reviews are inevitable for any hotel, but Disney is something of a special case. Lots of people who are accustomed to the Disney Deluxes find the Values suffer by comparisson. But in reality, all of the Disney Values are excellent hotels.

We just stayed there last week and it was great. The occasional "bad service" is going to happen anywhere. For us it was my sister and I trying to get the loaded cooler in the elevator and 2 housekeeping (male) workers standing right there and did not even attempt to catch the door that was closing on us! Grrr. However, the woman on the 3rd floor was very nice and helpful and all the other employees we encountered were friendly. Like others said the beds are COMFY!! We stayed in a preferred room (Calypso- Bldg 1) and were spoiled- I would probably request preferred every time now.....easy access to fill your refillable mug :flower:

We stayed there last November and loved it. We've been to several resorts, including deluxe resorts, and found this resort to be wonderful.

you said it yourself - you won't be in the room much. Just think of it as a place to shower and sleep. You're at Disney - it can't be as bad as being at work, right?
