Getting medicine through park security?

My daughter has an emergency medicine that we have to carry with us into the parks. It's a vial and a needle, similar in size to insulin bottles. Will security hassle us about the needle? Do we need to bring a doctor's note? I have a medical carrying case but should I put it in a plastic bag? Tia!

As far as I know they have no problems with insulin needles so they shouldn't have an issue with that either. Just let them know what it is and I doubt there should be any problems at all. If it needs to be refrigerated like insulin, you can do that at the first aid center.

I also wonder about the vials? If glass do they fall under glass container? I know I have seen small baby food jars get turned away.

No, medication is an exception.

I would think that as long as it's carried in its original container with the Rx label attached it should be fine. Better still if the label describes the medicine (vial and syringe blah blah blah) If it were me, I'd probably see if I could get a Dr's note also.

Thanks. We carry a note for the TSA so I'll bring that with us. We don't need the meds refrigerated.

You should have no problem. Medication is specifically on the list of exceptions to the glass container rule. And needles will not be a problem.

We took my MIL with us to DL last spring and she's an insulin-dependent diabetic. She didn't have any problems bringing the glass insulin bottle w/her through security and did not need a doctor's note for it.

Yeah, I think it's the same as bringing medication anywhere. As long as the labels have the prescribing doctor's name, the pharmacy, and the owner's name (who is present), there shouldn't be an issue.

im diabetic and always have insulin pens in my pocket, I always just put them in the basket before going through the scanners along with my moms asthma inhaler and never had anyone say anything
