Has anyone out there been married through DCL. I know you can get married on Castaway Cay and I just wanted some feedback. We are going by ourselves and are looking at an island wedding. How did you like it. What knind of expense is it? Can you do a toned down package. I mean no need for an expensive suite or champagne, all the little extras that add up. Just a stateroom, the captain to marry us, dinner that night, maybe a photographer and a certificate. Not some $10,000 package.

Thanks.

My daughter is getting married at Castaway Cay next year, and here's what we've learned so far....you book any stateroom you want (or can afford). The wedding is booked separately through DCL Weddings. Wedding package is approx $2900, which includes the ceremony, performed not by the captain but by the Administrator of the Bahamas. You get a bouquet, boutonniere, dinner at Palo, cake and cake topper, small reception right after the ceremony at Palo, champagne, a certificate, solo keyboardist at the reception and a few other "goodies". And concierge service. I have heard from one person who was married there and she said it was marvelous. DCL's website tells what all you get, but from the sounds of it, they go way out of their way at DCL to make it extra special. Hope this helps a little.

I am also getting married on DCL next year. Here is a little extra info that I found out. You are NOT officially married on the island. You will be taken off the boat the day of sailing and will be officially married in a private civil ceremony. I will be booking my wedding in November (one year before we leave) through FTW. So I can give more info once we receive all the packet of info from FTW.

nghtangl01,

Congrats on your wedding! Wow, what a wonderful way to get married! Hubby and I will actually be on the same sailing as you next November .We will be celebrating (2 weeks late) our 5th wedding anniversary! I will be hoping for great weather for you and that everything turns out perfectly for your wedding!

That is so cool!!! What category are you gonna be in? We are in a category 7. 7130 I think. We felt this was the best way to elope (just us, no guest) and different from most weddings. My fiance likes to be unique.
