Getting into TREX

So my family just decided that we want to go to T-rex. Our trip is the last week of July, we tried to make reservations but there were none available. How hard will it be to just walk in and get a table?

Did you try calling the restaurant directly? I know when we went last time there were way more reservations available by phone than through the WDW site.

Yep...call them. Since they aren't owned by Disney, they only allot a certain number of tables to Disney Dining reservations. I had to change from my original reservation date, and the only thing that was still available at T-Rex was a 9:30 reservation on Disney's reservations. I called and they offered 7, 7:15, 7:30, 7:45, and 8. Plenty of open reservations by calling them.

I would keep trying to get a reservation on-line or by calling. Try daily. I have seen them lined up WAY out the door to get in there.

You can eat at the bar, and that is usually no wait!

I'm going the first week in August and called them tonight. They only can look at one day at a time..not the whole week. She was willing to go through the whole week with me.. but first try I got a 5pm for a party of 5. Definitely call.

If you join the landrys club you'll get in as well. We've never had trouble getting seated within 15 minutes even on crowded nights.

As others have noted...just call T-Rex. They only release a very limited number of ADRs on WDW's dining site. We went in 2012...can't remember how far out I called T-Rex, but I had my pick of time slots for the day. We've since become Landry's Select members, which qualifies us for priority seating. We have tons of local Landry's based restaurants, so it's worth it for us...but you might consider it if you think you'd use it beyond T-Rex.

you could also try opentable to make the reservation I just did that with the Boathouse and it worked great.

T-Rex isn't available on OpenTable. Boathouse and Raglan Road are. You'd need to call T-Rex directly for a priority seating.

I wanted to change our reservation in August it just a little later. I called directly and got exactly what I wanted. Call them you are better off.

Yep--- call them direct--- got a 5:45 PM ADR last week for 7/7--- no probs )

Ooops So sorry I thought I had heard it was one that could be done this way. Thank you for catching it for me TDC. On a side note I wonder why it cant be done with open table as it is a non Disney owned, yes? Is Landrys (who i think i heard own T rex and Rainforest) able to be done through open table. Just curious.

Call their number. They have lots of openings that they dont let disney book for them.

A word of caution, even with a reservation at 1 pm we had to wait in the hot sun for 40 minutes. The standby line and reservation line were both way out the door.

If you have a Landry's card, show it so you can get your points for the visit. We've also found that the manager will come to your table to make sure all is well.

THIS! ... By all means, when you CAN? Contact any non-Disney owned Restaurant directly. THEY have computer systems that actually work - and they would LOVE your business .
