How hard is it to get a reservation for Oga's Cantina? Have to book on the very first day of your window? Is a lunch or dinner reservation harder to get? Any tips on this? Thanks.

Very hard. Planning later in your trip is really the only thing that helps. I haven’t noticed lunchtime being easier than dinner, if anything I see more in the evening—probably b/c people want a cool drink midday.

This, also depending on when you go, if park hours are extended then more ADRs will become available shortly thereafter. I got Oga’s that way and a couple other very hard to get ones.

Its variable. Some have had a lot of trouble. I had no trouble getting the day and time we wanted for April, but I did that right at 60 days. I was able to change 2 days later. A week later, nothing was available.

After booking Oga's Cantina several times and then cancelling, we finally made it to Oga's in May.

We won't be back.

Even by Disney's standard, the drinks were overpriced and nothing special.

Oga's was entertaining but no more so than the rest of Galaxy's Edge. Frankly, several other parts of Galaxy's Edge are more interesting.

For us, it would have been enough to walk in for 5 minutes and leave.

If you don't get Oga's, don't worry about it. You're not missing anything special.

Ogas has probably one of my favorite drinks of any bar/restaurant I’ve been to. I love their outer rim. I agree the experience is lacking a bit as it seems like a gimmick and feels rushed. But the outer rim is worth it.

For those who might like to know what this is:

The Outer Rim:
Patrón Silver Tequila, Cedilla Açaí Liqueur, Lime Juice, Pure Cane Sugar, with Black Salt and Exotic Fruit Purée

We were able to get an evening reservation for Oga's on day six of our trip. There were several time slots to pick from at 6:30 a.m. at our 60 day mark.

Was able to get a reservation today, on our 60+3 date (August 8). And even just now, in the afternoon, was still able to adjust the time by an hour.
This is drastically different from trying 60+2 for our upcoming trip in a few weeks. With that one, I still haven't seen it available, even using TP dining finder, plus me checking every so often throughout the day. And I'm trying two different HS dates as well, nada. (nor Sci-fi)
Which leads me to believe June will be busier than August, highly scientific reasoning there! ;)

I'm finding the same thing!
Well, not checking for August, but June has been impossible. I've had two TP different days and check quite often.
(Sci-Fi has been one of those really hard ones for me, even before the pandemic, moreso than Oga's)

Glad you got your August ADRs :)

I managed to do the impossible this morning and found an opening. Bad news it's at 9:15am. My husband and I can drink that early (not habitually), but I'm concerned we'll be missing out on rope drop. Are the crowds at HS thinning out later in the day? We'll be there until close, so if we can still hit rides later with lower waits we can make Oga's work.

Edited to add: we've been to Oga's once before. Yes, it is gimmicky, but it's part of the fun and immersion of Galaxy's Edge.

Did you find this by searching through the app this am or one of the alert services?

I found it just by searching, around 6:40am or so, but time usually doesn't have a bearing on finding one. It can have an effect on how long a reservation sits before getting picked back up, though. A reservation dropped in the middle of the night obviously sits longer before someone finds it and scoops it up. I periodically look throughout the day, and it's just luck that someone drops one right when I search. I've used alert services before, but historically I've had better luck looking myself.

They are hard to get. Later in the day seems easier to get. Because they don't serve meals, only snacks, many people have dinner reservations.

We (a party of 2) weren't able to secure Oga's reservations, despite waking up VERY early in the morning 60-days out from our trip starting, and despite our HS day being at the end of a 4-night stay. I also signed up for Mouse Watcher and over those 60-days, only one reservation opened up (It was sadly in the middle of the night, and so we missed it).

However, we did still get in! Given that Oga's was the thing we most wanted to do during our HS day, it was the first thing we headed to when we entered the park. I want to add here that we by no-means rope dropped or ran. We entered the park 5-10 minutes before opening and leisurely walked back to Galaxy's Edge, wandered up to the check-in at Oga's with zero expectations, and 5-minutes later we had a drink in our hands. If it's something that's important for you to do, I'd recommend heading straight to it at park open, and seeing if you can be accommodated. The fact that we were a group of 2 surely helped us - as did our low expectations of getting in - but our experience was great.

::MickeyMo Dining notified us that a 9:05 opened up for our August trip. Not the ideal time. But we grabbed it. Still hoping for a Late night one.
