Getting into MK before MNSSHP?

I do not have a park ticket for the day that I am going to the party but I will be going to the park as early as we are allowed to (4pm). I do, however, have a regular park ticket for the next day, so I am wondering how the system knows not to scan that days ticket? Because my MNSSHP ticket is attached to my MagicBand, right? I got an email with the ticket barcode for the party, but it also says that I can just scan my MagicBand to get into the park. Do we not tap our band to get into the park for the party?

This is my first MNSSHP and I really don't know anything
