Getting in and out of WDW!

Hi!

Just wondering if anyone could give me some advise on what would be the best way to get from my WDW hotel to Universal, Sea world etc?? i am heading to WDW in september and we are not hiring a car last year we found it to be pretty pricey for taxis! is there a bus service from WDW to these other parks or whats the best... thanks!!

Best way would be to hire a car for the days you will go offsite. If for some reason you can't, there is a city bus that is somewhat convenient to Sea World; Universal requires a series of buses.

Mears offers a shuttle service from WDW to these parks.

The public bus system (Lynx) is very inexpensive, but from what I've read on these boards (and others), it could take you an hour and a half or more to get from WDW to the other parks, along with several bus changes.

Your question is what is the best way to get from WDW to Universal etc. Taxi is the best way or hiring a private town car service. Rental car might be next best, but if you do not wish to do any of that I believe Mears will provide a shuttle.

Depends on how many in your group. There are three of us heading to US/IoA in mid-August. I could have rented a car, taken the Mears shuttle, hired a car service. A rental car would have cost me at least $35, but probably more like $65-70 because I would have kept it until the next day. Add in parking fees to that cost...probably in the neighborhood of $80 or so.
Mears, for three of us, would have been about $50 or so. I would have had to call them the night before we wanted to go, try and get a departure time that met my needs, then either make my return pickup time right then, or call them 90 mins before I was ready to leave US/IoA. Or I could hire a car service. That would be about $60-70 and I would be able to have the pickup times pretty much exactly when I wanted.
I decided to go with the car service. I'm paying for convenience and hassle-free service.
