Getting Groceries without a car?

We are headed to DW staying onsight in mid May. We will not have a car.

What have you done for groceries? Delivery from Goodings or Garden Grocer or take a cab to the nearest grocer and take a cab back.

If delivery....
-did you order before your trip and set a date for delivery or did you order once you got there? They say to allow 24 hrs. But they also ask for your room # etc. which I think could change until you actually get your room

If cab...
-what store did you go to...did you have the cab wait or pick up another afterwards.?

What is the best way to get groceries at DW without a car and staying onsight?

I brought home a box from work (the copy paper type w/ a cover). Shopped for breakfast and snack items I know my family liked. Packed them up and sent it out about 4 days before we left. It was waiting for us at our resort when we arrived. We grabbed milk from the resort gift shop, and also purchased refillable mugs, (as we always do) for our beverages. This worked great for us!

We used wegoshop.com in May and had a great experience. We ordered a week prior to our trip through their website. Once we arrived at WDW, we called them to let them know our room#. They arrived right on time (we had selected a delivery time). Groceries were brought right to our room (no wasting vacation time going to the store ourselves). We selected the brands that we wanted, including a 24 water bottle case. Service was excellent, but there was I think a $15 service charge if you spent over $100. Well worth it for us, though.

Thanks for the posts. I think we are going to go with gardengrocer.com.

Someone emailed me the info and they had a great experience. It's only a $50 min and $10 del charge.

We thought about mailing stuff down. But it will most likely cost us the $10 charge we are going to pay anyway. And the prices at gardengrocer seemed very reasonable. We are in MA so reasonable per our prices.

I can even get diapers...(a little more expensive) and not have to worry about lugging down a weeks worth of diapers. We can also get the 24pk of water

i 'll tell you why i picked them because they have pictures of the items, that's what it comes to for me, i need to see the box, it is so much easier to choose what size and style when you can see it. i registered and started a shopping list of perishable items bagels and eggs and butter and also water bottles and fresh bread, i did ask them about tastykakes i saw them on the home page but not listed in the snack isle
i emailed them and they told me to just add the krimpets to the special instructions page and they will pick them up
very easy, he says they are adding items everyday,,
for 10$ i'll lie around SAB while he goes shoppong for me...

What did you hear about garden grocer? I've never heard of them.

I saw a rec from someone here on the boards. But also a poster was kind enough to email me her experience with them. She said they were great, no troubles, etc.

I too like to see picts. But what it really comes down to is that they offer the same service, for the same fee and same minimum, but their prices are close to normal grocery store prices. wegoshop had a high minimum purchase and a high fee to me. And Goodings prices are a bit on the high side. They seem a bit more upscale. I also liked that garden grocer had a lot more choices. I can even get diapers and wipes. With two toddlers..that saves a lot on packing and space.

We are going in May. I'll try to post back how it went.
