Hi Guys,

We'll be staying at a 1 Bdrm at Saratoga Springs. Since we have the kitchen we've decided to make breakfast and snacks most days. While I prefer to have magical character breakfast all the time...it gets a bit pricey. After looking into a few different grocery services vs renting a car for the day and stocking up at Publix....what do you guys think?

Thanks Everyone!

seems to me that the delivery service would be cheaper IF all you wanted to do with a rental car is go to the grocery store. now, if you were going to use it to do something else for the day then maybe rental would be worth the cost. it would also save time with the delivery service. I believe that garden grocers offers a discount if you place your order 15 (?) days before you need it. their delivery fee, I think, is $14 dollars. not sure what kind of deal you can get on a car.
have a great trip.

How much do you think you will save once you factor in the cost of the rental car? IMO, you would need to purchase a lot of groceries in order to offset the cost of the car. And also factor in the time spent driving to/from Publix and time spent shopping. Your vacation time also has value.

A couple of other options that you might want to consider if you still want to do the grocery shopping yourself...pay for a taxi cab to/from the store or use a limo service that offers a free grocery stop instead of Magic Express.

We prefer to do our own shopping. While we have a rental car we are able to eat off property and the money we save just by eating 2 meals off property pays for the cost of the rental car. We usually get a car from either Dollar at the Wyndham or Avis at the Hilton both are across from DS.

I love Garden Grocer. They do a great job and the delivery is worth the cost IMHO. I figure my time is valuable, too, so I don't mind paying for good service. As a PP noted, they do give a small discount for ordering in advance. I believe it is a sort of sliding scale.

All interesting options. I can get a car for 20 out the door...so my reasoning $14 vs $6 more and getting everything I want seems like a no brainier. Haven't decided yet but who knows.

We also have used GG twice and will again for the next trip. It is a little more expensive but worth not having to worry about doing it ourselves and then having to bring it all to the room. Worth the extra money for us.

We enjoy having a car. Depending on the time of the year you can get one between $10-$20 a day. As another poster has stated, you could eat off property once or twice if you desire - that will pay for the rental car right there. Also, since you're staying at such a huge resort - you might find that you save a lot of time traveling to the parks, ADR's, etc. if you have a car.

We always rent a car and always use WEGO Shop if it's more than for of us.....generally travel 10 plus family members. The amount of time you save by having them do the shopping is well worth the $$.

We have used We Go Shop 3 times now and have great luck with them. Professional, on time, never upset over what they purchased. You pay the shelf price, and a delivery fee compared to Garden Grocer and the prices they set. I got a text from them last time that my order was already at my resort as we were getting off the plane in MCO. Amy runs a good business and we have had no issues using them.
