We have booked a land/sea package with transfers for July 2004. We are staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort. On Barb's website, this is the last resort (stop) for cruisers to be taken to Port Canaveral. Could we go over to the Grand Floridian that morning and pickup the DCL bus there? The GF is one of the first buses to go to Port Canaveral. Do they only send out enough buses to the resorts to coincide with the guests staying at that resort? Do you have to take the DCL from the resort that you are staying at? There is a two hour difference between the first and last bus to Port Canaveral and we would like to board the ship as soon as possible.

Depending on how many are in your group you may consider a Towncar. Many limo services offer Towncars at reasonsible rates.

My family of four was picked up at PC and taken directly to AK (no stops or waiting) for just over a hundred dollars (at the time the Disney bus was $25 per person) a four days later we went back to Orlando International for about $60.

The limo services are more convienent and sometimes not that much more money than the bus service.

Just a thought...

I would check to make sure that the Grand Floridian does go straight to the port. It may be that it picks up the first guests there, but then goes on to different resorts doing pickups along the way. If it does go straight there you may be able to take it. We stayed at Pop Century and went to the Swan to catch the bus. They didn't seem to care where we went to catch the DCL bus - we just picked the Swan because it was the closest - we did tell them ahead of time. I don't know if they had our name on a list or anything. Also - I thought we would have to get a taxi, but one of the cast members at the Pop Century at the last minute decided to shuttle us over as a courtesy. He said that any WDW resort can shuttle you to another - you just have to ask and hopefully arrange for it the day before you need it. Of course no one mentioned this to me until the day we were leaving.

I agree with PinClubs, depending on how many people you are traveling with, it might be less money to use a private car service. We use Tiffany Towncar and they are charging us $245 (plus tip) for the three legs of our next trip.
