Is there some sort of transportation guide that outlines the best possible routings to get from one resort to another?

Or, is the best strategy here to hop on the first transportation to a major theme park that comes along and then "transfer" to the resort you are trying to get to?

Are there better places to use as a transfer at certain times? DTD? Water Parks? A certain park? This will be my first time using Disney transportation 100% of the time at WDW, so any help from the "old pros" would be appreciated. Thanks.

depends upon the resort.

for a Mk resort then ride the bus to the MK then go to the resort of your choice by boat or monrail.

for a Epcot resort - ride the bus to Studios (not epcot) - then either walk or boat to the resort.

for AK resorts - I would go to AK then get on their buses..

for the DD resorts - I would go to DD - then either get on their buses, walk (SSR and OKW) or boat (OKW, SSR and PO) to the resort.

if the theme parks is closed and it has been closed for more than an hour (sometimes two - ask when you get off) - then you MUST go to DD to change buses.

however those staying at SSR - you would probably be better off just going to DD and getting the resort bus you want.

The boat from DTD to the PO resorts can take a very long time. I would suggest transferring at Epcot or MGM for the PO resorts.

you are right!!

yes go to Epcot and then get on OKW or PO.

SSR is still DD.

however the boat rides can be FUN! :cool1:

I always suggest that instead of trying to get from one resort to another you plan this around a theme park visit. Otherwise you will spend a lot of time just traveling. For example, if you want to vist the Contemporary, Poly, Grand Floridan, Fort Wilderness, or Wilderness Lodge plan on being at the Magic Kingdom that day. For the Epcot resorts of Boardwalk, Beach/Yacht Clubs and Swan/Dolphin plan on either Epcot or the Studios for that day. From the International Gateway of Epcot it is a short walk to any of these hotels, or you can take the Friendship boat. From the Studios it is a longer walk or again you can take the Friendship boat. FYI the Friendship boats run between Epcot and the Studios all day stopping along the way at the Epcot resorts. Slow ride but relalxing.
