We made our air reservations assuming we would stay in Ft Lauderdale after a cruise, then we decided to go to DisneyWorld (having never been there). We will drive there on a Thursday and then we have to be back at the airport in Ft Lauderdale by 4am on the following Sunday. Is there a nice bus service we could get on late and just sleep till we get to Ft Lauderdale? The alternative is to get a hotel room for that last night and sleep from 7pm till around midnight, then drive back in the rental car. How long of a drive is it?

Thanks so much!

We drove from WDW to Ft. Lauderdale for our "hurricane cruise," and it was four hours with a couple stops. We rented a car from Thrifty and dropped it off near the port.

Where is the Thrifty pickup at WDW, and how much did it run you? We're doing the same after Christmas :)

We actually picked up the car at the Thrifty right across the street from Celebration, at the Parkway Radisson (right off 192 near 1-4 and 417). I don't remember the cost, but it was $30-something dollars. We ended up paying $8 to upgrade from economy to a Jeep because we had four people and needed to transport a wheelchair.

Was the drop of in FT Lauderdale easy to find? Was there a free shuttle to the port from Thrifty?
