Getting from IOA to Disney

OK So I've read the transportation sticky many times, but it's all about getting from WDW to UO and I'm trying to do the opposite and can't find the info. I need.

If we want to rent a car to go to Downtown Disney for the day, which car rental companies are close enough to Universal that I could rent from them?

There is Hertz at the Portofino Bay Hotel. There are also some close offsite hotels on Major Blvd. for other rental agencies. Just go to your favourite car rental website and it will show which hotels close to universal have pick up/drop off.

Thanks! I think I found my answer. Looks like it is 2 buses, the 37 and 111. DS11 and I have been craving the create your own snacks from Goofy's Candy Co. and I thought maybe we could spend a couple hours at DTD. None of the options seem worth it though (2 hours each way is a lot of time for some pretzels, and the car rentals are pricey). I'm thinking we'll just skip the whole idea and stay at Universal. We'll have to satisfy those cravings next year!

Keep asking as to who will be there the same time as you, maybe someone will offer you a ride or have the same craving and offer to share a cab. We always drive down and always go to DTD. Normally it's just my wife and myself. If I saw someone who was a regular poster on this forum asking about DTD I'd probably give them a ride. Last HHN opening weekend we used our passes to get a forum member's kid in for free. We've also bought discount passes when they were $89 at Kroger and mailed them to people who didn't have a Kroger in their area. So maybe you'll luck out.

There's an idea I didn't think of. We'll be at the Hard Rock from Aug. 18th-26th. I bet lots of DISers are there during that time.
