getting fit for your trip - a place to share & ramble

Hi all,

I hope everyone is doing well and trying hard to be good! I would love to say that I have been good, but I landed myself in hospital for a couple of days to pump me full of good stuff and am home now catching up. I have the dreaded winter Lupus "flare" up and have had some other complications to boot! I actually had a real problem ( won't go into the details to spare the squeamish!!! ) after they removed my canula yesterday, so that made them want to keep me for a bit longer.... bugger!!!! Oh........hospital food........now there's weight loss right there:rotfl2:

Hopefully will be back to normal in a few weeks, but don't think I will be the weight I wanted to be before we go. But the way I figure it is, I am going to Disneyland one way or another.....right???!!!

Have a great weekend all:flower3:

Oh no! I hope you're 100 in time for your trip.

Treat day for me. Disney On Ice. Lots of junk, but lots of fun too.

Tough week, I need to get back to exercise :crazy2:

Work has been a nightmare probably amplified by PMS and one of my girls at work told me today I was grumpy and what a crap day it was and now I feel bad :(

8 weeks to right now until i'm on holidays, i'm doing my bosses job at the moment, thrown in the deep end, 4 weeks of this? :furious:

I need to focus my energy on getting fitter, i'm not fit but I am a tiny bit leaner. DH went to the shop tonight and asked me what I wanted, "can I have some of that new Cadbury marvellous creations?"
"ummm no"

If I was standing up I think I would have stomped my feet like a 4 year old :p

I did it! I am five days post op...had the gastric sleeve operation done. I had to start on optifast two wks prior to my surgery date. So since my surgery and the optifast I have lost a grand total of 7kg. So atm I am a little sore and if you asked me on day one or two after the surgery I would of said "what have I done" but I can say now that the nausea has stopped and I can tolerate fluids and puree food I feel great! I know some of you didn't agree with my decision but so far my blood sugars have been stable and I am off all diabetic medication! So that in its self is worth it. I know its not for everyone and obesity is an illness I have stuggled with for years so it was a big life style choice and change to have this surgery it was a well thought out and researched exercise! I am now looking forward to our holiday in October and glad I am on the other side of this surgery.

Well Kyl, I am very happy for you and let's hope it's onwards and upwards from here. What perfect timing that you have your holiday to look forward to as you get through this recovery. :flower3:

Morning all! MinniSue, hope you feel better soon! My weight loss since last Tuesday....1kg! Im pretty pleased! I've been eating right and drinking a lot of water! I remember last time I cut out fizzy drinks I was loosing weight fast! We'll have to wait and see what the official number is tomorrow on weigh in day :) WooHoo!

morning all. i am very depressed this morning. this weekend i told myself i was really going to amp up the exercise and even do all my household chores/errands. instead i spent the weekend sick in bed. this illness is really kicking my butt around.

i have the day of work today :surfweb: and i love that at least the sun is shining outside, instead of this miserable fog and rainclouds that we have had for the last week. maybe if i give myself a chance to be a little bit lazy on the dis this morning, then i'll be able to really get into it and have it all finished by lunch time.

ugh. i hate being sick. we have 19 weeks to go, and i want to lose 5 inches off my waist and hips,, doable?? sure. if i'm not sick. with the illness and the pcos? who knows?? so just not feeling motivated, or even energetic. good news is, while i don't count kgs, i can almost (in a few more inches) fit into the jeans i want to take with us on the trip.

just a little further to go... wish me luck!!

Alicia, make sure you don't push yourself too hard. Give your body a chance to recover, otherwise you might end up sicker for longer.

I'm feeling fantastic today! I can feel that I have lost weight, and I feel STRONGER as well. I had a bit of a naughty, treat day on Saturday with Disney on Ice and I think that's the reason I felt so flat yesterday. But proving that I'm a different person, I had some fruit and worked out instead of taking up a position on the lounge and pigging out. The result? I felt SO much better and got to fully enjoy my Swans win :). As a result I am happy and energetic today.

I find it amazing that my body is already use to less sugar. I only had a small pig out on Saturday compared to what I use to have and felt awful the next day. Makes me realise just how much damage I must have been doing before...

lets try to have a good week this week...

the sun is out, the birds are singing......so no snackage:thumbsup2

I'm back to work/ gym this week, so fingers crossed I drop a bit in the next 59 days til I fly out.
DH has lost 7 kg in the last 6 weeks, hes looking good and feeling better than he has in a long time:love:

good luck all:grouphug:

Day off today, i'm going to make myself some breakfast then head out on a long-ish walk.
Then i'm going to clean my house (ok, thats a maybe :p)

But it's a nice-ish day here, just one problem, my back/shoulder is giving me hell  and two weeks until I see he osteo again, she's not even in the office, she's gone off to new Zealand for a break so I don't know what i'm going to do :(

Well, I walked, I think it was about 40 minutes and I am a bit tired after it (I guess I am starting again after about 10 days of no exercise).

It's a start, now to decide whats for dinner...

Do you think my family would be upset if I served them up roast lamb again (leftovers from last night, so much left).

lovely on fresh bread:wave2:

Had my weekly weigh in today. Total weightloss this week (tues-tues) - 1.4kg :cool1:

Awesome :cool1:

I'm starting to wonder how much weight I've lost, but it will remain a mystery since; a) I don't know how much I weighed to start with and b) we don't own scales!

Cms continue to disappear though. My tummy is losing the most, although above the bellybutton seems to not want to shift :(

I'm doing the Level 3 workout on Shred now which I actually quite enjoy - even though it leaves me sore, hot and sweaty afterwards. Today isn't going to be a great day foodwise, but it's not going to be awful. I'm still not being silly about food so it's all good.

Another lovely day. Would be perfect for a run/walk, but I'm stuck at work :(

I walked DS to school today, have done a load of wash, will wash my car then who knows...

But a 35 minute walk to start the day was nice, it's a lovely day today, a bit of warmth in the sun and no chill in the air :thumbsup2
