Getting engaged in DLP...

My boyfriend and I are planning a holiday to DLP in december 2007, when we're planning to get engaged D). I've been to the parks several times before, though never in winter and not for a good few years, and he's never been at all.

Can anyone suggest the most romantic or creative spots around the park? Has anyone else had romantic moments in the park? We don't want it to be too public, but we want it to be special and a bit different, which is why we're going to Disney for it!

I know a proposal is supposed to be a bit of a suprise, but he sometimes needs a bit of a prod in the right direction when it comes to romantic ideas

Any suggestions/stories/whatever would be much appreciated!

I think that is a lovely idea and can't think of anywhere more special to get engaged

I can't help on any romantic places though cos we were with the kids all the time but to be honset, I thought the whole experience was romantic because my husband booked the trip for my 40th birthday and everything about it was special

If you are wanting something private them what about Blue Lagoon restaurant. With the atmosphere and "fire flys" it would be memory to remember

We got engaged in DLP in March 2005 - i spolied the suprise by finding the ring before he had asked me!!! Roy had hidden it in his shoe, covered by socks and than packed the shoe in the case, of course i always unpack the case and pulled the socks out and something in the bottom hurt my finger at whoch point i shouted out to him in the bathroom 'theres something hard in your shoe' he came running out of the bathroom and said ' you've spoilt it, will you marry me!!!' i was so shocked!!!

the plan was to ask me under the castle, he showed me a picture of the floor under the castle before we went and said ' we will stand on this exact spot tomorrow' of course the plan was to go here and then he'd ask me... but my nosyness spolied the suprise!!! he did ask me again on the spot, so it was very romantic and everytme we hae been back since i always get a warm feeling - we always make a point of going back to the exact spot. I also's gives me a great excuse to go back every year in March to celebrate!

Book a "Good Morning Fantasyland Breakfast". You get into the park early, Main Street is empty and there is hardly anyone around Central Plaza, the castle or in Fantasyland.

Or why not do it on one of the rollercoaster??

I agree the Blue Lagoon is very very romantic, even when I have my DDs in tow I still think so!
Or perhaps a meal at Auberge de Cendrillon where Cinderella's coach is outside
Or anywhere inside or around the castle?

Hiya! And welcome to the DIS!!

If you go inside the Castle and round past all the colourful story windows, there's one part where you can go outside onto a little balcony overlooking part of Magic Kingdom. I love DLP in winter - its beautiful with all the snow. What could be more romantic than proposing on one of the balconies of the Castle with a snow-covered MK in the background?!! You're still out there in the centre of Disney, but have your own private little balcony and your moment of privacy...

Whatever you and your DBF decide to do - I hope you enjoy it!!
