getting drinks on ship

We will be going on first Disney cruise soon. We got a early check in around 1030. I know you can't go to your rooms until later in the day. What's the best way to get a case of water on without lugging it around all day. I know they offer water on board but we would like to bring our own to have in the room. We drink a lot of water.

There is no other way. You will have to carry it on and around with you. I would put in a rolling suitcase. Boarding will not start until 11:15-11:30. You will probably be on the ship by 11:45-12:00. Go have lunch, check out the kids clubs and by then it will be 1:30 and you can go to your room.

This is exactly what we do as we always bring a rolling carry on size suitcase of waters on board.

If you absolutely have to have bottled water, then you will have to lug it around with you.

Wheels are your friend. The only thing DCL asks if you want to bring any of your own beverages onboard (which is a very liberal policy) is that you bring them on with your carry ons. Get a suitcase or duffle with wheels to bring onboard with you.

We always divide a case of water into our 4 carry-ons. Then we park them until our room is ready.

We brought on 48 bottles of water. 6 bottles of wine. 4 bottles of liquor. Numerous mixers and soldas for our 14 night WBPC cruise in May. We knew our roller bag was going to be heavy, so we opted to arrive at the terminal at 11:30. We were checked in and on the boat fairly quickly at 1pm. We stopped for character pictures, kids club bands and the boarding picture...we went straight to our deck and they dropped the rail within 5 minutes...and we never hauled that bag anywhere else. I was willing to give up lunch on board to not haul our heavy suitcase all over.

The water on the ship taste fine and is safe to drink but if you prefer bottled water, then the easiest way to carry it will probably be to pack it in a rolling "carryon" style suitcase. We use one for our wine and fragile items that we want to bring onto the ship.

I find the water on the ship to taste better than bottled water as a general rule. I keep a Nalgene or two of it in the fridge.

Take a whole case with you. Just because someone says the water on the ship is good or better. Doesn't necessarily mean it is.

The way it does work is as stated above. Carry it on. Rolling duffel or suitcase. At most would be 2.5 hours that you would need to lug it around. We take it with us when we sit down to eat anyways. If going to the pool. Place it next to your stuff. Easy peasy.

Or a pur or brita could work as well.

Ship water makes me swell. Holland America, DCL, or the US Navy...it does not matter. I also swell from bottled "drinking water". It needs to be spring water or a ph neutral water. I swear my body hates me sometimes. Ha!

May I ask what brand a ph neutral water may be? I chug water like crazy and still swell. Back landside for a day and it gets better, but I have had no luck, even with drinking lots of water.

We drink Smart Water. But here is a list. The closer to 7, the better.

Drinking smart water doesn't always test with that PH number. While I do find it is one of the best waters available. "Like water from a could".

It's really a give and take. Much internet research will give you varying numbers on PH. It's best to test the water yourself and maybe each area they get the water from, tap to bottle. The water in a part of CALIFORNIA will probably defer from that in another state.

Thank you! I love smart water and drink it at home regularly (I am in a town where you do not drink tap water and even the RO filtered water still has a taste). May take a case of smart water on with me to see if I notice a difference.

Bringing water is a great idea, maybe bring a refillable bottle and then fill at check in before boarding. You'll be glad you did!
