I totally agree the exchange rate is great for tourists just now (though bad for other industries ). My first trip was at $1.45 / £1 so anything this high makes me very happy indeed

Decided to bite the bullet and get our dollars this week. Managed to get a brilliant rate of 1.868 at Eurochange in Bournemouth.

Compared to 1.43 when we went two years ago this is fantastic.

You normally get more if you change over there or is that not the case anymore?

if you think that the rate will stay at this level for a while get a nationwide CC as when you buy in the usa with it you do not get charged any transaction fee so you get the interbank rate $1.93 today and not the tourist rate of $1.85 we use it for our dues at DVC we get £500 in travelers checks and rest on cc

Onlinefx for definate - ordered 6 times from them in the last 2 years and delivered within 2 days every time. They usually have much better rates than anyone else!

Thanks for that tip, l never thought of trying them.Didn't get as good a rate as you (1.858) but l'm happy getting a bit at that rate just in case.
