Hit the 60 day mark today for our 2 week trip to the Fort! Dawn and I are reading the Unofficial Guide and have Rhonda's email at the ready! Thanks Rhonda for all your help so far! A ton of reading here and TCD, you da man!! :thumbsup2

So many things we want to do and we thought 2 weeks would be enough. Wow, Dawn and the kids are already talking about a return trip next year. Here's to stimulating the economy!!

Until then, counting down the days!

I love :love:the UG. I have used for the past 2 trips. I never really minded standing in line before.....but now I have a little guy (ds5) and not having to wait in line makes life so much easier for and us!!!

We will be there in 2 weeks and 2 days!!!! We are also stimulating the economy. We are getting the Mil Discounts. You just can't pass that one up.

62 days here and counting every minute. Got the itinerary down pretty well. Starting to work on meals now. Trying to coordinate three families gets a little tricky and in the end we will be eating at our RV for most meals (can't afford TE any more :sad2: ) Planning a few off-site meals on our free days since there's so many places close around. We use TGM, but it's still a lot of work getting things put in an understandable order.

Are you basing your ride wait times on the UG crowd levels? We have not done the UG website yet until we are both through the book, but book does the book change your mind on how and when on a lot of things. Would you be willing to share your ideas via private message?

Also just noticed your from Columbus. We are leaving South Bend right after work our first night on the road and we will be staying in Seymour, IN. then from there heading to a KOA on the south side of Chattanooga the next day. Then stopping at the Eagle Roost the next day. Making it a nice leasure drive.

We were just talking about meals last night. We made a couple dinner reservations each week with Rhonda, but the rest of the time will be cooking in the camper. We look at it as both saving $$$ but also a little relax time during the day. I really wanted to try TE, but not hearing good things about it. Anyone have good reviews of the b-fast buffet @ Chef Mickey's?

Could you please elaborate on what UG you are talking about? I have 1 book about Orlando with kids but do you have something different? :hippie:

Yep, we live in Columbus. Traffic wont be too bad on 65. Indy gets crazy but after 6pm is it better. YOu should have a good drive.

The unofficial Guide to Disney. It is at every store and I highly recommend it. It is big but filled with great info. Also if you buy a book you get to use their web site free and they have crowd calendars and all kinds of tools. It is a good investment.

Where do you like to eat off site? We usually go off site too. It is cheaper!!! We really don't like TE....even if it was cheaper. It was just OK for us. I am hoping the new pool counter service has some decent choices.

We're looking at Golden Corral and I think there was a Wendy's down there in that area also. Going for Breakfast Buffet on Sunday and will do lunch buffet on a day we have nothing planned and then hit the outlet mall to see if the Disney outlet has any bargains.

Thanks!

I hope that you have a great trip.

Do some spying for me when you get to the Fort, and maybe you can earn your Junior Deputy badge!

I no longer use guides, official or unofficial. The Dis has everything you need to know for your trip. Be sure to let us know if you need any advice or insight on anything!

We just passed our 60 day mark last week. Kids are really starting to get excited. Rhonda sends some GREAT email updates that everyone has enjoyed.

Hey U. P North - looks like you've decided on your driving route. I'm pretty sure we're heading the other way - S65 to I10 across the panhandle to 75.

Tri-Circle-D - thanks for all the great reports about the pool. When my kids saw the final pictures they started jumping up and down.....

Can't wait til June.....

Yes the emails from Rhonda are Great!

Yes, we have the route planned. Gonna go through Atlanta, but we should be ok with the time of the day (I HOPE!!).

Well, looks like we will all be there at about the same time. 60 days until mark here too. I will be there for a week and have already reserved my golf cart with kenny. How about you all?:woohoo:

That is the way my mom always goes to FL. Might be longer in miles but you don't have to deal with Atlanta!!!!

My parents just got back from a week in the Orlando area. On the way
down they went the I65/I10 route, on the way back they went I75 through Atlanta. They said there were a lot of construction projects between the Florida line and Atlanta but I'm not sure how much impact those would have on travel.

They did say the Alabama drive was much less busy than the Atlanta route....

I just want to get there, it doesn't matter how :cool1:

Same here...we just want to get there. Since we have the drive down broken up into 3 days, I think that times us out good for around Atlanta (if there is ever such a time). But we plan on just taking our time getting there safely!
