Getting close now

"Only 8 more sleepies" I told the kids tonight before bed. Now it's time to get our stuff together for our first trip as DVC members. We have 8 nights booked in a 2BR at OKW. We had 5 nights in a BW GV but a couple people cancelled and we moved it to cheaper and added 3 nights! So the fever begins to set in...

We are driving because we are only 6 or 7 hours away. My inlaws are staying with us and they are flying in at 10:30AM on Saturday. I know ME will take care of their bags but I really want to get there and check in with them since I bought all the park tickets too. Which brings me to my first question (long road to get here huh?): How long will it take them to get to OKW from the airport using ME?

For me to get to OKW by 11:30AM I will have to leave Saturday morning at 4:30AM. OK for me but by Saturday Night I'm betting on a couple of crabbies. The kids might not be in great shape either. Second question, if we decide to tear out of here Friday because we, er ummm the kids can't sleep and pay cash for Pop or Sports or POFQ will Bell services handle our bags to OKW so we don't have to mess with it?

Now let's assume that I'd like to have Mousekeeping more than just at the 4 day mark and T&T everyday for sure. Do I need to call MS and have them add this now or do I do it at the front desk when I check in?

I've heard different stories on this so I'll ask again. Will the Front Desk split the room keys to two charge cards or do we have to wait until the end? The inlaws will be leaving a day earlier than us and it would be way more convenient for us to have that already done. I could ask them to not use the room keys also.

Replying to my own thread... I booked a room at Caribbean Beach for Friday night and they said Bell Services would handle the bag transfer. They also said it wouldn't take more than an hour to 1.5 hours for ME to get the in-laws to OKW... Does that sound right for a Saturday morning?

I did get full mousekeeping for the whole week. Makes my wife feel more like it's a vacation if somebody else is making the bed.

At BWV last October, I couldn't get a second charge card on our ressie. My DCuz checked in first and the room keys were tied to that card. In the end, I was the only one who charged to the room, so I paid the bill.

I do think that 90 minutes sounds about right for getting to OKW using ME.

I hope you have a wonderful time. OKW isn't our home resort, but we stayed in a 1 bedroom in June and we had a great time. We have stayed in 2 bedrooms at other resorts, and DH has told me that if we ever do get a 1 bedroom again, to get it at OKW. So, a 2 bedroom will be really fine for you.

Are your in-laws "OK" with steps? Just a thought, I would not be good on the 3rd floor, so we have always asked for either an elevator building or first floor. We've stayed twice and have been fine, an elevator building both times.

Yeah they are fine with steps, good idea though as the rest of the family may come over for dinner one night (12 total but they are all at movies or something) and Dad is 81 so he's not a big stepper.

We did the one BR last year at OKW and really liked it.
