Getting Bottled Waters at the Poly

Definitely nothing directed at you - just that Spirit has such a bad reputation for canceled flights & bad customer service. I truly hope all goes well! :-)

I hope so, too. It's our first time flying Spirit, but a few of my friends use them consistently and swear by them. We really have no choice but to fly. The original plan was to drive to Orlando and then on to HHI, which would break up the drive. But the hurricane postponed the WDW portion of our trip. Due to my DH's back problems, we can't do two long drives three weeks apart. It was either Spirit at $256 or Southwest at $560. I can't imagine getting cancelled going down as our flight is at 5:40 am. If so, there are 3 flights right after ours. Coming back might be an issue. We have the last flight, but we are retired and so if it gets cancelled, we won't have to be back for work.

After thinking about the logistics, I think we may go to the Poly first to drop off our backpacks. Might be better for DH's back! Where is a good place to stop to get bottled waters and some breakfast items? Someone earlier mentioned the Hess station. Isn't that Speedway now?

I am here now and can confirm that the Poly does not have cases of bottled waters. They also don’t have large cartons of orange juice.

ETA: They actually do have large cartons of Minute Made orange juice.
If you do not already have a Walmart+ membership you could sign up for the free trial before your trip then cancel after. With Walmart+ there is no delivery minimum.
Since we couldn’t get waters at the gift shop we actually ended up doing just what you suggested. I lost my Burt’s Bees Wax at the airport (a necessary item) and since we needed bottled waters and didn’t want to buy individual ones costing almost $4 at the gift shop I ended up joining W+ and doing a deliver order for tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion! I do want to add that it did make me order $35 for delivery or else it charged a $6.99 fee.

I know this was off-topic from my thread, but I thought I would add that we had a wonderful experience with Spirit today. One of the best flights we’ve ever had! So happy we didn’t experience the problems that some do.

Glad you had a great flight. Have a wonderful trip.

Thanks for the report! I had read that Pop and other resorts had packs of multiple small bottles of water but they weren’t on the gift shop shelves, guests had to ask for them. So did Poly have only the individual bottles?

How was your experience with Walmart+ overall? I recently joined this service and am planning to use it for an upcoming trip. Historically I’ve used Garden Grocer for delivery.
It was good. Unfortunately we won’t be able to use it at home since our home address isn’t eligible for delivery. But it was nice to have it here for our trip. About 30 minutes before delivery I got a text with a link that allowed me to track where the driver was. I was also able to call the driver to give directions for where she could park so we could get our groceries delivered closer to our room. With no free trial, we will probably still use Walmart delivery in the future and just pay the delivery fee.

Thank you! Looking forward to giving it a try!

Re bottled water: Grab a tote and monorail over to BLT. We always buy at either (used to be called BayView Gifts...can't remember name and too tired to think) or Contempo. We especially love the little bottles to toss in backpack for the Park and get full size for the room.

Plus we get either DVC/AP (sorry, can't remember which) discount at BayView Gifts;

I already saw this before the trip. It is not correct. They do not have the 8-pack water, and I was told by a few gift shops that they do not sell them anymore.

I checked out BLT, but maybe not all of the locations in the resort you mentioned. I could not find any cases of bottled waters.

At BayView, we always by 6 paks. We would use 2 days washing carefully in between.
Sorry, I didn't realize or read correctly that you wanted cases. That would most likely need to be ordered off site. In all my many trips, I never saw anyone buying cases at the onsite shops anywhere.

When we were just at BWV during the Hurricane, we bought several large bottles (really large) at Screen Door (and got discount there also) for the room and small bottles for park backpacks. We bought them numerous days and ended leaving 2 for Mousekeepers because we couldn't take on the plane. We didn't need/want a case as this worked out so well for us.

I wanted only around 8. If you look at the Poly grocery order form that jshadd posted earlier, you will see an 8-pack of Dasani. I probably shouldn’t refer to that as a case. I guess it’s a pack instead. But it allows one to buy several bottles at a cheaper price rather than buying them individually at a higher price. These were sold in several of the gift shops at one point but not anymore. We ended up with a 24-pack from Walmart and left several in the room for Mousekeeping.
