What is the most effective way to get your request? Should I just call or is there a better way?

Are you talking about the size of bed - one king sized vs two double - or are you talking about feather pillows vs dacron filled pillows and such??

Size of bed. Thanks!

First: A request is just that....a request. There is no sure way of getting it, otherwise it would be a guarantee.

Second: All Disney resorts require you to PAY an additional fee per night for a King bed.

Example: At moderates a Standard Room ranges from $149 - 219/night, a Waterview ranges from $174 - 249/night and a King bed ranges from $174 - 249/night depending on what "season" you stay during.

Otherwise bedding is as follows:
Value: 2 doubles (standard or preferred)
Moderate: 2 doubles expect Coronado Springs which is 2 queens (standard or waterview) or 1 King (additional $$)
Deluxe: 2 queens (standard/garden/water/club level etc.) or 1 King (additional $$)

You cannot "request" a King bed unless you are willing to pay extra for it.

For room requests, you can have Disney Reservations note it on your reservation and you can fax the resort 4 days prior, but once again, there are no guarantees that any requests will be granted.

The king bed is an actual booking category at the moderates, you can reserve it, they are the same price as waterview. At the values & deluxes, it is just a request and there is no additional charge. A friend & her husband got a king at ASMovies last week without a prior request (offered at check-in).

Thank I understand is not a guarantee I work in the hotel industry for 5 years but different resorts have different policies that is why I asked what is the best way. Also when I made our reservation in AKL they told me we can get one king or 2 queen.

This is true. At deluxe and value king beds are requests and do not cost more. best thing to do is just place a request on your reservation and hope the request is granted. at check in you can also ask since it is a request and not a booked category. at a moderate hotel you pay more but it's then booked for you.

GOOD LUCK! :cheer2:

Thanks so much for your help. I know that in big resorts the reservation dep and front desk are so big that they operate on their own without to much contact. The best way in our resort is to call the front desk manager since we are the only ones that can block a room (unless they are paying extra) because is our inventory. :)

1) When you call a resort, you get the Call Center, not the resort.
2) IF THE CALL IS DEEMED IMPORTANT, the resort might accept a transfer.
3) However, we frequently refuse calls for such a purpose.
4) Especially since the ressies don't come down that far in advance.

I get that. That is why I said our resort I didn't say all resorts or disney resorts.

I thought you meant pillow request as we had to ask for NO DOWN in our room due to my husband's severe down allergy. Both our room (mine & my parents) were NO DOWN.
