This will be our first time at Universal. We're going next week for three days and staying at RP. We plan on taking advantage of early admission to IOA and have read its best to walk there instead of using the boats, but what about returning to the resort? We will probably finish each night at US when it closes. I assume there will be a wait for the boats but are the walking paths very crowded as well? Are we better off walking around CW for a little while and then taking boats/ walking?

We normally look at the boat lines to see what the wait is. But almost every time we like to walk as it's relaxing and quite. Some nights we hit CW for some ice cream and watch the crowds from up above a Bubba Gumps. Then stroll around before walking back.

No walking paths are never crowded.

We always walk back to RP rather than deal with the boat. It's a beautiful walk and one of the reasons that's our favorite resort. Never had an issue with crowds.

the boats do regular runs about every 15-20 minutes.
on crowded periods, they can add a boat for a hotel.

for each hotel, the boats go back and forth from one hotel to boat dock and back to the same hotel.

Glad to hear the walking paths don't get crowded. I think we'll take advantage of those. Thanks for the help everyone.
