Getting back to another Disney hotel after an evening at the boardwalk?

Ok so every trip we end up at the boardwalk one afternoon and always plan to spend an eveningthere but never actually get round to it. We hope to do it this time but due to thebeer options we would want to leave the car at our hotel. Would going home by bus via downtowndisney be the best way if HS and epcot were closed? Would taxis be there most of the time?

Thanks

Taxis are generally there, and I have literally never not seen taxis parked in front of swan and dolphin (both right next door, and essentially just as close, depending on which bar or restaurant you were sampling), largely b/c they not use magical express

If using the resort transportation, I would take the bus to Downtown Disney because they run a lot later, then hop back to your resort. I would do that if either EPCOT or HS is closed or it is getting close to the time where you have to wait forever for a bus to get back such as after Illuminations or Fantasmic so you can avoid the high crowd levels there.

I would do a taxi. Buses to and from DTD are hit and miss on the best of days. That would be my last choice for transportation.

We love spending an evening at the Boardwalk.

How we get back to the resort is:

-We tak a look at park hours and see which park has EMH
- Make our way back to that park
- Take transportation from that park back to our resort
- If MK is the park open the latest, we take the bus from Boardwalk to MK.

This always has worked well for us. I would not recommend going the route of DTD as the busses run much less frequently and you could be waiting a very Long time.

Have fun!

We did this last week. We left Jellyrolls after 1 am, there were taxis waiting right outside the Boardwalk!

Oh, taxi all the way. We just asked at the bell services desk out front at the Boardwalk and there was a big long line of taxis just sitting there waiting. Took maybe a minute to get ourselves into the cab and away we went. And the taxis will be there 365 days a year - easy money with ESPN Club, Big River Grille, Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance Hall right there with lots of alcohol flowing.

I would not take the bus to Downtown Disney if under the influence. Then you would have to transfer and depending on your level of influence, that might be difficult.

The taxi will take you right back to your resort. All you have to do is make it to your room. Budget at least $25 to include tip and you are set. And that's for the entire cab, not per person.

Yes, CuteAsMinnie has a good suggestion. We do this often, not from Boardwalk since we stay at BC, but from other resorts where we enjoy dining and visiting later at night. It does work well, and much better than taking the bus to DTD.
Have a great time!

Thanks guys! Wouldn't expect it to be a really heavy session or anything, will have young one in tow lol, but aware that HS often shuts at 9pm and the thought of trailing the whole way through Epcot to the busses doesn't really appeal to me after a nice night elsewhere. If we do it we shall grab a taxi then. Thank you x

I was at ESPN Club until close for the Blackhawks games last week- I'd recommend a cab- like others said, it's easy, not too expensive, and don't have to worry about transfers.

Have fun!:)
