Getting Autographs?

I always go see the characters to get pictures with them. And I have no shame, I will run with open arms and a stupid grin on my face when I see Goofy ;)

I had an idea to get postcards and have some characters sign them for my nieces & nephew back home (5,6,7,10). Two of my nieces have never been to Disney, so I think it would mean a lot to them to get something like that from the characters!!

My question is - would I be rushed along before I could ask the character to sign for me because I'm an adult? I don't want to be responsible for making a little kid miss this magic moment because I took too long with a character. :guilty:

My fiance is a CM and we go to the parks on a regular basis. We always go see the characters and they have never pressed us along. I always take my autograph book in case I see a new character I don't have! They treat everyone fairly, and I've never seen adults only pushed aside.

I told Eeyore once that he was my total favorite, and there was a HUGE line and he signed my book special AND he danced with me and it was so memorable. :eeyore:

Oh thanks so much! I just wasn't sure...

That's awesome that Eeyore danced with you!! :woohoo:

I was there in October last year with 4 adults in our group. There was never a time when any of the characters (or their handlers) rushed us. I got hugs and autographs, the guys got high fives or fist bumps, and I think the Photopass photographers like to actually have a captive audience. ;)

I actually waited in line for about 20 minutes to meet Belle, Tiana and Jasmin and I didn't have any problem, I felt kinda weird at first because I was the only adult without children then I saw 2 or 3 other adults there without kids. :thumbsup2

It really sounds like a good idea. I had never thought of getting autographs from the characters. I might have to start that when I go down there in 10 days.

Thanks! I used to get autographs when I was little, but the books always ended up in the bottom of a drawer, so I don't think I'd collect them now - but I wanted to send a little magic back home to them!

And WOOHOO! 10 days!! are you so excited??

Some characters have given me more attention than the kids in line. They dance and joke around with me. I'm guessing it will be fine if you want to do the autographs. If you make friends with the CMs like my Dad does, they'll do anything for you.

They never rushed me whenever I went by myself or with some other adult friends. I've gone in line to just take photos of them. Most of them will let me take as many as I want, will ham it up and entertaining the people behind me anyways. Usually it's a nice break for the CMs and Characters from the little kids in line that like to pull the princesses hair or start screaming near any fur characters :goodvibes

if anything you might get more attention as an adult. i had a ton of fun with characters last year, they seemed to love having an adult who was intelligent and organized with my autograph book (ok it was a scrapbook pad but still). i think they are characters b/c they like making people happy and magic happen and those postcards would fall under that category.

I had a blast with the characters myself, but I tend to get shy (like worse than my 6 year old niece)! The first time I met Stitch (my fave) I ran up, got the picture, and ran off - my sister was slightly alarmed at how fast I got the picture. The picture turned out awful too...

The second time, I took said niece along for moral support. She's scared of Stitch, so she stood to the side and prompted talking points for me from a distance, "Hey Stitch! My aunt LOVES you! Look, she's wearing the shirt she made that has you on it!!!" :lovestruc I had waaaaay more fun when I took time to talk to him and interact. The handler took the picture for me and gave me lots of time to "play" with Stitch. Didn't feel rushed at all.

Over near TSM where the Toy Story characters are, I held my niece bc she was scared of Woody and Buzz. They kept begging me to come be in the picture and acted sad that we wouldn't come near. :rolleyes1 That they took the time to pay attention to she and I over in the corner was great.

So to the OP: no, I don't think they'll rush you along, and yes I think that the postcards are an awesome idea! :wizard:
