Getting Autograph Books Ahead?

I keep reading of people getting autograph books ahead of time. Where do you get them? I looked on ebay and the prices seem pretty steep (I think I remember paying around $5 at Disneyland and they're going for $8-$10 with $3-$5 shipping on ebay). Is there another alternative?

I made my kids. I used scrapbooking books that are bigger than 4x6, can't remember the exact size. (I bought them at Michaels craft store with coupons and they didn't come out to be much) and I bought stickers and had my dd decorate hers and her brothers. Then I put clear contact paper on the front to protect them. I had the characters sign on one side only and then put their picture on the other side. I am going to buy protective sleeves to put on them so the ink won't smudge.
By me doing it myself it made them original and my dd loved them so much more than the ones in the parks...any more ?'s let me know...

I bought one at the ASMo gift shop for 6.95 and then went to the Walgreen's outside the park to get some breakfast stuff and they had some there for 3.00...Needless to say I felt stupid!!

The little blue autograph books with Mickey and friends on the front is $7.40 with tax. The purple princess or new pink 50th princess autograph/photograph book are $11.66 with tax. The gold 50th anniversary autograph/photograph book with pen is $12.73 with tax. You can get any of these at World Of Disney at DTD, most of the stores at the theme parks and at any of the resort stores.

At Target right now there are princess notebooks in the dollar zone right as you enter the store. I picked one up for my DD for our upcoming trip on October.

I got each of my kids the Creative Memories Disney 7x7 books. We are gonna get autographs on each page and then when I get home insert pages opposite the autographs for the pics.

How much are the CM ones? I wouldn't mind paying a little more for those since they're archival.

Making them is a good idea too... perhaps I'd better go to the scrapbooking store and see what all's available.

It's good to know how much they are in the parks as a comparison. Thank you for all the great input! :disrocks:

Making your own with scrapbooks and stickers is such a great idea! :flower:

We used the Creative Memories one last year in June. The album turned out great!
In December we used the Princess one.

I bought mine at the dollar store. Same size as the original WDW autograph books but with no Disney theme on it.

Worked just fine for my 2 DD's last trip. They are taking them back this summer.

princess: I would go to Cafepress, and make your own cover and then upload the photo. You can make your own cover. If you have kids you could use photos of them with Mickey, or whomever.

Just my suggestion.

We wanted to have ours in hand when we arrived at the first park, so we just bought ours at our resort gift shop. We arrived late (after 9 pm) but the gift shop stayed open until 11.

I bought a 6X6 album at Michael’s craft store. I plan to use my Disney embroidery machine to put some princesses and my DD name and the year of our visit on fabric. Then I will glue the fabric to the album. She will have a one of a kind autograph book.

You can also buy a photo album, cut some card stock paper to size, then decorate as you wish.

MARdisney,
You might get a nicer one for the 4 yr old and maybe a cheeper one for the 2 yr old. BUT... if they are like my 3 1/2 and 20 mth old, they have to have the same thing, then you should get two. Try Target, Ross, office supply stores, discount stores, Walmart and stores like that. If nothing stikes you, then buy a note pad w/ blank pages (no lines) and put stickers on the front. Did you search the net? Search for disney (what ever you are looking for) or search for note pads (a size that would fit pictures for you).

Are you going to DW or DL? We are going to DL just about the same time frame.

Best of luck!!!!!!

I like the idea of making photo covers. But I'm trying to figure out how to do that. Is Cafepress like Kinkos or something?

I usually go offsite to any gift shop in the area. I personally don't like the ones they sell in the parks. I like the slightly bigger ones that a picture can be put on one side and the autograph on the other. It makes for a great scrap book. And they are only like $3 or $4 dollars in those shops. They usually come with a pen too,but its usually small.

KC10- Thanks! We are going to DW. I'm headed to Target today, so I'll see what they have. We have tons of disney stickers we've picked up here and there, so I'm thinking I will just let the kids decorate the cover of some kind of cheap notepad.
Have fun!

You create your own photo that you want and then you upload it into their site, and they will print it on books.

my example. http://www.cafepress.com/jessicalynn.24597273

You could add your child's photo, or them with Disney.......
anything.. if you cant get it to work email me I will help!!

They are 5x8 in size so you can add photos when you get home!!
