I am taking 3 of my kids to DW in October by myself. We are not renting a car.

My first question is...one of the days my DS16 and DS12 will be going straight to Animal Kingdom while my 4 year old and I go to GF for the Pirate Cruise. Is the bus system easy enough from CBR to AK that they will be able to navigate where to get on and off by themselves?:scared:

My second question is...after the Pirate Cruise my DS4 and I will meet up with the others at AK then after closing we will go to DD for dinner. What transportation do I take from CBR to GF then to AK then to DD?

1. yes. there will be a bus labeled AK. thats the one they take. if they get on the wrong bus, they will go to the wrong resort.
2. resort to resort is tougher. i dont know if buses go to the TTC. it maybe easiest to take the bus to MK then take the monorail to GF. then from GF take the monorail back to MK and take the bus to AK.

It will be very easy for your DS's. At the resorts, there are separate bus lines for each park. Get in the AK line, wait for the AK bus, get on AK bus.

As the other poster noted, take the Magic Kingdom bus from CBR and then take the resort monorail to the GF. When you are done however, don't go back over to MK!. There is a bus that will take you directly to AK at the GF.

You will not have to compete for bus space with MK crowds and it also should be much faster.

When finally done at AK, there is a bus from AK that will take you directly to DD.

DS 12 & 16 take AK bus direct from resort.:goodvibes
You and 4yo hop on monorail. get off at MK which is your next stop, go to the bus area and catch the AK bus. you're there. added plus of monorail ride and see if you can sit up front!
Set up a meeting place at AK (aren't cell phones wonderful) when you are on your way over.
After you've all enjoyed AK, go back to the bus stops and catch one over to DTD.
Our experience has been that the Transportation Center buses are on a much wider pick-up schedule than the buses at the resorts and parks, so we never use it. Buses from resorts and parks run 10-15 minutes or less.

I don't know why people are suggesting that you take a monorail to MK from the Floridian, then walk over to take a bus to AK when you can simply take the bus FROM the Floridian to AK.

This will waste time. Yes you get to ride on a monorail for 3-5 minutes but so what?

If you do that, you'll have to go up to the upper level to get in a monorail line, wait for a monorail (yes they are fast though), get off at MK, then walk all the way across the front entrance of MK to the bus station which is on the opposite side of the park entrance than the monorail. (Think 5 minute walk).

There is a DIRECT bus to AK from the Floridian. I have found that the bus from the Floridian runs quicker (probably because its a Deluxe Resort) and you will definately get a seat. If you go to MK, you will likely share the bus with more people and may have to stand.
