Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get acrylics nails done? We'll be staying on the Boardwalk and wondered if there was anywhere onsite. I can't find many details so am looking for help.

Also, any idea of roughly how much they are?

Thanks

The Grand Floridian Spa definitely does. :)

But if you want them done before you travel - i've had them done before a fortnight's holiday and they've lasted great! :)

Hi There!!! I know that the Mandara Spa at the Dolphin does acrylic nails. I'm having mine done there for my upcoming wedding.

I'm having mine done in the UK before we go out, just need to try and not break any. I didn't want to waste holiday time getting them done because I hate it!

I'm with you. I had mine done on a Friday (mani and pedi), we left Sunday and our wedding was not until the following Monday and my nails stay fine. I had a french mani done and brought some white nailpolish just incase I needed a touch up. Both my mani and pedi were fine the day of the wedding. I get my nails done every two weeks and I love the way she does them. I did not want to waste time while in Florida and I wasn't sure how they would be done (beside the high cost of getting them done at Disney).

I don't have any photos of my nails uploaded but here is one of my toes.

Thanks for the info.

I was going to get them done before we went but the latest I could have them done is two weeks before we go which is about 3 weeks before the wedding. I know they won't look so good after that amount of time as I've had them before.

I've contacted Valencia Salon on Wheels and they do acrylics so I am going to book them to come in to the hotel room. I'm also booking a spa manicure for my Mom and a hot stone massage for me. LUUUURRVE HOT STONE MASSAGES!!

Linda, I remember seeing that picture of your toes! I also want my red roses for my bouquet that colour.

I don't think I could stand getting my feet done - got a bit of a phobia - so it's a good job I've got shoes with covered toes.

Very funny :lmao: :lmao: .

I am not always crazy about getting a pedi but I am a sandal girl and love open toed shoes.

BTW - those color roses are called Black Magic Roses.

Thank you for that. I thought Black Magic roses were much darker than that. I've been collecting pictures to send to Disney floral - it's a case of these are too bright, these are too dark but these are just right. Hey, call me Goldilocks!

It's really hard to tell. If I get a good picture of the difference I will post.

Ok - I just found this. Now this is going to be really hard to tell but this photo was taken the morning after our wedding. The red roses in my bouquet are Black Magic. DH had a black magic bout but by the morning after the wedding it was dead. The flower that he used that morning I took from the bouquet that were on our alter the morning of the wedding. I believe it is considered red. It is really hard to tell but it is much redder then the ones in my bouquet.

Here is a picture the day of the wedding. Notice his bout is a much darker red. The one we used for the MK shoot was the same one that is in the bouquet that is on the table in this picture. It is definately more red - it was also closer to the camera so it looks different but it was definately a different shade.

Hey Alex,

Just popped in to say that I was originally going to get them done at Perriwig's salon at the Beach Club - http://www.relaxedyet.com/yacht_club_salon.asp - as we'll be at the Boardwalk the night before and the night of the wedding, and this seems the nearest option, along with the Dolphin.

But then, like most others, I didn't want to waste holiday time having them done, so toyed with the idea of having them done at home, but I didn't want to chip them when carrying luggage etc.

Soooo I emailed Beaute Speciale to ask if they did acrylic nails, as they are doing hair and make up for us anyway, which they do, so I am now having them done on the morning of the wedding when they come to do their stuff!
They indicated they normally prefer to do them prior to the wedding day, as there is a lot going on then, but when I said I'd prefer the day of as of precious holiday time they were fine with that.

Anyway, admist that waffle, the point was that as another option, ask whoever is doing your hair and make up, they might be able to do it!

PS. I want to see these black magic roses you're talking about above, my work PC won't show me pictures for some reason!!

What a wonderful idea. I never even thought of that. I feel like such a dummy. Good thinking.

Thanks for posting those. The red in the photos looks like the colour I'm after :thumbsup2

Thanks hun. I never thought to ask Beaute Speciale. I want to get them done the day before as acrylics hurt my nails for a good few hours afterwards with all the grinding and filing they do.

Thanks for the link to Perriwigs too - I couldn't find a link for them.

I've decided to take a few hours out for Mom and me and organised a hot stone massage for me, followed by a spa manicure for Mom and me and then arcylics for me. They are coming in at the same time Carolyn Allen are coming to steam my dresses which is ideal as 'the men' will have been kicked out so Tim doesn't see my dress :thumbsup2
