Getting annoyed with confusing information...

We are booked to stay in the Swan at the end of September for 2 weeks. We have set up the MDX information and have been trying to join our hotel reservation to it. As we are staying at the Swan, we get to book food and FP+ etc 60 days before we go (which is fine) however we are just at the moment trying to connect our actual hotel reservation to the MDX but it won't let us.

We called Thomson who told us we had to get a different booking reference to enable us to add it to MDX so we called Disney, they said that they couldn't give us the reference yet as Thomsons don't send over reservations until just before we go which means it would be after the 60 days when we are supposed to be able to start booking FP+!!. We went back to Thomsons who then told us that we couldn't add our hotel reservation until 60 days before also (the same as the FP+). From speaking to people on here however, I'm being told we still should be able to add our hotel to MDX now.

I know this isn't a massive thing and I know that just adding the hotel isn't a key thing unlike booking FP+ etc but we still want to be able to add it for peace of mind.

Can anyone clarify for us? :confused3
 
I agree with twirly123, try calling the Swan or go to Starwood hotels webpage and do the online chat option to get your reference number that way.

You can definitely link it prior to 60 days, I have done it.
 
You will need to add your hotel reference to MDE for the 60 day FP+ window to open up. We are staying in the Swan in April (booked through hotels.com). I called the Swan and got the confirmation number that way - maybe you could do the same?

Well this is the thing we are having the problem with, nobody will give is the reference. The Swan are saying they can't give it to us until Thomson send over the reservation and Thomson are saying we have to wait until until 60 days before we go before we can even add the reference for the hotel. :confused3

I remember you telling me about this in a previous question which is what sparked me to try and fight back with Thomson :rotfl:but they aren't having any of it!

Thank you both, I think we will contact the Swan again directly and see what happens.
 

We linked our Thomson holiday with MDE 3 days after booking. I used the 7 digit number not the long two part number. If you go on to manage your booking this is the flight reference number. Hope it works for you as well.

Disney are telling us it's an 8 digit number (which is what we can't seem to get from anyone) and also we don't have access to the manage your booking stuff (apparently!) as we booked it in the shop...! :confused3
 
Sure you should be able to log into manage your booking - you'll need it to do your API. Can't believe Thomson have different standards for booking in store compared to online! Have you got the Thomson app? The number listed as your "flight and Hotel reference number" is the one I used. I just checked and it is 7 digits long.
